Buying first pushchair - any recommendations?

Hi all

I have just started looking at pushchairs, my baby is due in the new year. I think i would like one that is fairly compact and has a chassis that a car seat can slot onto. I would also like it to come with a carrycot, so that it can turn into a pram. Ideally the carrycot will be removeable so that that the baby can sleep in for the first few months (if i get the with the right mattress), rather than needing to also buy a moses basket.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

look at the teutonia range. we have the spirit s3 and wouldn't call it compact but they do other models that are smaller, check on ping pong online, it's a german site we ordered from. we had a carrycot and clips for the car seat-we rarely used them as i liked ds better in his carrycot. the seat unit will face both ways and is really warm for the winter! i love this pram and have used a lot of different prams-it took me nearly 20 weeks to choose my pram and it also comes with a 3 year warranty. hth

It all depends....

Do you walk a lot?
Do you use public transport?
How big is your boot if you drive?
Do you want something that faces you when LO is older?
What is you budget?

Personally if I could go back and do it all again I would buy a pushchair for walking and a pushchair for the car or public transport.

I have a Baby jogger city mini which is a great stroller fot the car or public transport, you can buy a carrycot for it and the maxi cosi car seat fits it with an adaptor.

The Britax Vigour looks good for walking and faces you when LO is older too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the Teutonia range.

When I'm on maternity leave I am hoping to be out and about walking in the park and to local shops. I will also be nipping about in the car. Once I am back at work then i will be using the car daily. My boot is an ok size - but i want the pushchair to be fairly compact so that i will also be able to fit in luggage etc for a weekend or week away.

I do want the baby to be able to face me.

they fold up quite small, ours fits into the boot of a seat leon without removing the seat unit and you can fit bags etc in too. it's also great for walking. the wheels we have are like a rubber and the suspension is great. have used it nearly everyday for 17months and the all round foot muff is really warm.

second getting a car buggy like a maclaren quest or baby jogger city mini and a walking buggy that faces parent like bugaboo or britax 4.
