Pushchairs
Flying/Holiday with a stroller. Any recommendations?

We're flying with Thomas Cook later this month and need a stroller for a large 18 month old.
So firstly does anyone know off hand if there are size restrictions for pushchairs in the hold? I know I could phone the airline but I'd probably be on the phone for the best part of September so thought I'd try you lovely mums and das first.
Secondly then, and more importantly, what would you recommend? My ds is a big 18 month old and the tiny £20 options are just too small. We'd like something that could recline as we've got an early start at the airport and for all those sleepy moments on holiday.
Anything else is a bonus! Thanks in advance x

What's your budget? If you want to keep it low cost I'd go for an OBaby. We have just got back from holiday using one of those which I bought at the last minute just before and it was fantastic and really did very well. Only thing is they are fairly narrow so you may want to try one out in a shop first for size.
(Also, they got it into the hold of a hovercraft unfolded with no probs so size nice and compact)

Maclaren XT, good sized seat, lovely tilting hood for sun shade, and robust so will put up with luggage handlers!!

I've flown with my Mac XT and it's been absolutely fine. They take it off you at the gate and give it back outside the plane door. DD is 19 months so similar and, at this age I think it's worth having that bit more padding and comfort as they are still quite little.

Thanks, I left this message in travel tips aswell and Mclaren seems to be the buggy of choice. Think I might have a look on eBay for one, but still open to all suggestions.
