What pushchair to get?!

Hi all, I’m a first time mum expecting in early 2026
im mindblown by the options for pushchairs alone and even more confused than when I started looking.
I have an outdoorsy job & hobby (horses) so was looking at getting a second hand out n about to leave at the yard regardless, and then something nicer like a nuna mixx for using ‘in public’ - but is this overkill for the price? I like the added features of the vent at the back for airflow & the ease of putting it up, down and back together.
thanks in advance!

The out n about is just brilliant. It will lay flat for a newborn (although you'll want a better insert than the one that comes with it) or you can sit a bassinet in it. I'd honestly just use that and a decent carrier (I loved my ergobaby embrace for the newborn to 12 weeks stage, baby didn't use a pram really for this age).

If I already had a big three wheeler for off road walking, I wouldn’t want another big four wheeler for taking around town. I’d look at something smaller, like Nuna Triv or Joolz Hub, or even just straight into a travel sized stroller. If you don’t need it from newborn and are happy with then facing away from you, the Bugaboo Butterfly is probably the best option. If you want it from newborn the Joolz Aer 2 has a bassinet, and a parent facing smaller seat for when they’ve outgrown the bassinet part. If I were in the market for something the size of the Nuna Mix then I’d probably go for the Bugaboo Fox over that. It’s just really well built, so sturdy for its weight and while I’m not sure how it’s fold is compared to the Nuna because I didn’t try that Nuna, the fold is really easy.

100% try and get hold of a second hand out n about for the yard. I live rurally, all horses or farming and pretty much every mum has done the same thing.

For day to day I would honestly try and get something compact/foldable. I didn’t know what to get being a FTM. I got the Egg 2 which was beautiful, lovely. But sooooo bulky and was hardly used past newborn. We went on holiday when DS was a few months old and picked up a bugaboo butterfly to use. It was so convenient the egg went on marketplace a week later.
