I know that there are people out there who have probably tested all sorts of prams- please help me because I can’t decide on what I need!

I have a 4 month old baby who is fairly small (11lbs). I own a Bugaboo Fox 5 (which I love- my car is just too small!). However, I can’t deal with it in and out of the car on the school run/to do errands anymore. The school has no car park so I have to park a 5 min walk away (also too far to walk from home). My pregnancy was quite hard on me and I’ve become so weak since. I just find getting the Fox in and out of the boot too hard, the frame is really light and I thought I could use the car seat on it easily. However, my boot is a bit small for it, so getting it back in the boot is a nightmare and lifting the car seat in and out of the car leaves me feeling drained. Also, nothing else fits in the boot of the car when it’s in there which is a problem too.

Anyway, what would you recommend for someone who already has a fully fledged travel system? I don’t care about the cost at this point, I just need to make my life as easy as possible because I’m not coping with getting out with this new baby (who has never slept longer than 2.5hrs a time yet) due to how exhausted I always feel and I’ve mostly stayed inside. Preferably, the baby would face me still and it would be light yet sturdy- perhaps could also be used for the toddler years so I haven’t completely wasted money on the bigger travel system!

Thank you in advance to anyone who’s taken the time to read all this and reply!

I have a bugaboo Fox Cub (so slightly smaller and lighter than the Fox 5) but same problem, it doesn’t fit well in my boot. I also have a yoyo which I bought for travel but which is also a game changer for commuting in London as I can lift it up and down tube stairs on my own. It would work for travel (cabin approved) and baby faces you in the newborn attachment then it works as an older baby and toddler pram. It seems to be the runaround pram of choice in London for sure.

Joolz aer or Yoyo. Very compact, light, one handed fold, both have new born bassinets (bought separate) cabin approved and suitable for toddlers. I went for the aer as it lies a bit flatter. The new version Aer2 has recently come out so there's deals to be had on the Aer+

Yes yoyo.

That sounds so tough - I completely get how heavy the Fox 5 can feel when you’re constantly folding it in and out of a small car, especially if you’re already exhausted and juggling everything else. 💛
From what you’ve described (small boot, need for light but sturdy, parent-facing seat), it sounds like you’d benefit from something in the “compact travel system” or “lightweight pushchair” category - something that can still handle everyday use but folds quickly and doesn’t eat all the boot space. Models like the Cybex Mios or Babyzen Yoyo + Newborn Pack tend to get mentioned a lot for that situation.
I’ve actually been working on a little free matching tool that helps parents narrow down prams - it’s still in beta but was literally made for situations like yours. You can try it if you’re curious: www.prampal.com
Either way, I really hope you find something that makes daily outings easier - you deserve that break.

A Doona car seat with wheels. I haven’t used one as my kids are older but this seems like a great solution, especially for school run.

Nephew is in a Joolz Aer+ I think. It's really compact when it folds down. It would fit on a back seat

Absolutely love our Joolz Aer+.

Had a yoyo previously, and loved that at the time, but the Joolz edges it for me.

If it’s only a five minute walk would a sling be any good? Much easier than a buggy in and out the boot!

Just realised this is posted in “pushchairs” Ignore me! Sorry sorry… backing out quietly…

Any of the flight cabin baggage style small prams - Jools Aer, Uppababy Minu, etc
