Lightweight stroller?

Hi there, I’m a FTM and my little one is about to turn 1. I’m looking for a lightweight stroller that I can easy fold, doesn’t take up much space in the boot and that LO can sleep in. Can anyone recommend where I should start? I don’t want to break the bank and regret another big purchase. I’m also wondering if any of you have lightweight strollers with footrests? My pram doesn’t have one currently and I think it’d make it more comfy? All thoughts welcome!

We have a Joie Nitro, we like it - you can lie it mostly flat for naps.

I pushed a silver cross pop round for about 7 years. It’s lie flat and indestructible and it still looks good

We had the original Joolz Aer with DC1 and had been using it for DC2 but decided to upgrade as the Aer doesn’t have a full recline or built-in footrest (we bought the attachable footrest but it kept falling off!). We tested the Bugaboo Butterfly 2 and Joolz Aer 2 and preferred the Bugaboo. Engaging and adjusting the footrest and full recline on the Bugaboo is much easier (I always found the Aer recline terribly fiddly, and the Aer 2 is the same) and the Bugaboo is better for our DC2 as they are tall. We were able to test out both and DC2 just looked much more comfortable in the Bugaboo. It also has more accessible and bigger basket - if it’s going to be your primary or only pram this is very helpful.

For what you’re describing (compact fold, comfy enough for naps, and a footrest), I’d look at lightweight travel strollers that recline almost flat - like the Joie Pact, Bugaboo Butterfly, or Ergobaby Metro+. Those all tend to score well for boot-space and comfort.
If you’re just starting out and want to compare options, I’ve been working on a little free tool that matches strollers based on your budget and needs - no sign-ups or commitment, just helps narrow it down. It’s called www.prampal.com if you fancy trying it.
Hope you find something that makes outings easier.

Second the Joie nitro. I miss that stroller 😅
