Hey needing some advice please??

We’re thinking of going away on a last minute holiday with our 3 month old and I’m a but confused about what to bring for him.

Airlines usually allow 2 items of baby kit. We’ll need a carseat for transfers and a pram. We have an egg pram and the carrycot and base are seperate. Does this count as 2 items? What do people usually do? Thinking of buying a second hand stroller that folds on itself but I’m not sure if that would be appropriate for a 3 month old.

any help would be appreciated please? Sorry if this is obvious- I’m a little confused about what to do.

thanks! ✌️

Yoyo babyzen with new born set and car seat clips. Then you can clip on the baby car seat when you get it out of the hold

The new born set folds into the overhead locker, don't buy the bassinet carry cot which won't. If you have a baby cat seat, you can sometimes use them on the flight if you buty the baby a seat. It's more comfortable than holding them

Just buy an ‘extra large pram bag’ from Amazon. You get the luggage tag from the check in desk, put on the loop of the bag and then at the gate shove both bits in. It will fit. It won’t be ergonomic to carry, but it will be fine to be loaded on the plane.

unless you are frequent fliers you don’t need to buy a £400 travel pram, although it might be something you might want to upgrade to for multi-use when you have a toddler for ease of getting in and out a car.

You can take the egg pram. Buy a pram bag. Pack pram all in bag including carrycot and it will go in oversized luggage and be tagged when checking cases. Car seat also in car seat bag. Then baby can sleep in carrycot also when away. You can pack nappies in car seat for extra protection

Get ergo embrace sling for baby at airport and on plane. It’s straps but soft so great for that age.

Thanks for all your replies.

In case it’s of interest to anyone, I asked Jet2 for clarity (I know all airlines are probably different 🥴). They said it doesn’t matter if pram is in 2 parts (most are), it still counts as 1. So egg pram with carrycot and carseat are fine. Only catch is that all items to have a combined weight of no more than 10kg. I haven’t weighed it yet but our egg is HEAVY. I’m also a bit worried about it getting battered (it’s new).

So I’m looking into pram rental. Baboodle rent out the Babyzen Yoyo for around £45 for the week so I think that might be a good option.

To save you weighing the pram which sounds like an arse ache, just look on any website that sells it, they always list the product weight.

If you buy a stokke yoyo pram, I wouldn’t bother with the newborn part for one week. Get the car seat adapter and you can use with car seat and the main seat is ok imo for 1 week for 3 month old if needed for the airport. It lies down about 90%
So baby can use main seat, car seat and sling as needed

We have taken the yoyo onboard as our handluggage as it’s within the dimensions

We used the yoyo loads after we bought as travel pram, and they re sell well so you will get 4 years use out of it. We still used pram large jogger pram at home but the yoyo for days when boot was full, shopping, travel etc..
