Which should I get?

I have an 8 month old. She’s my first and we’re planning at least 2 more. When I was pregnant and we knew nothing about baby products we bought a panorama xt travel system because it was what the shop had. I didn’t know anything about all the different options online and there were no other shops nearby to see things in person. 8 months in I can’t stand it! I’ve decided to splash out and get a new pushchair. We only need the pushchair at the moment but I want one that we can also have the cot and car seat for for our next baby in a couple of years. Here are my options:

Joie Finiti. Benefit is that the whole travel system is the cost of just the pushchair in the other choices. Downsides I worry about getting a cheap option again (made that mistake already!). The colour I want isn’t available til August which isn’t ages away but I go back to work in September so I really want something I can enjoy now. I can’t stand the thought of August coming around and I don’t want to be waiting for August because then I have to accept that my leave is nearly over. This would of course be the financially sensible option! The benefit of the whole system being affordable now is I could buy it all and not have to worry about compatible items no longer being made.

more expensive considerations:
silver cross reef 2
nuna Mixx next
cybex talos s luxe
the one I like the look of the best is the Nuna. I like the frame shape of the cybex but not the colour options. I’m less keen on the look of the silver cross one. The silver cross I like because (shallow I know) I like the brand name. It also rates top of a lot of comparison lists which is really making me consider it. With all three of these options I could only afford the pushchair so would need compatible cots and car seats to be available in 2 years or so. I’d really like a luxury one but it is a concern that the compatible items won’t be available in future.

my criteria (beyond the obvious safety, comfort, ease of use etc) are:

  • all terrain. We love a country dog walk
  • compact enough. I know these aren’t very compact options but an all terrain pushchair which tend to be bulkier is more important
  • compatible items easily available in future
  • luxury and style. I feel even more strongly about this after putting up with the panorama!
  • extra features to make baby as comfy as possible like extending shades, ventilation, top quality harness
  • something that has the versatility and quality to last us 3 or more children from newborn to 3 or 4

what should I get??

Also should say a spacious storage underneath as I have a bad back so carrying anything is hard for me

Not one of the brands you’ve picked, but the pushchair I had - Uppababy - would tick your boxes. I adore our Uppababy. The basket was vast, and it’s good off road. I had a Cruz rather than a Vista. When DD was a baby I had adapters which I used to clip her maxi-cosi car seat onto. You can buy a piggyback board so the older child can hitch a ride whilst the younger one sits in the seat. DD is 3.5 and is on the 99th for height and still
sits in it very comfortably so definitely has longevity.

None of the brands you list are all terrain. They will quickly get very heavy with a toddler in on woodland walks.

I would get a three wheeler from a main brand like mountain buggy, out and about nipper or baby jogger. You can just buy the pram now and order a carrycot later in a few years if and when needed. Buying now is just a waste.

In your situation, I would get a Bugaboo Fox or Uppababy Vista. These are the best to push, feel light even though they are large, huge baskets and really comfortable for babies and toddlers. They are both available second hand.
