Best prams for dog walks!

Hi! We’re just starting our search for prams and car seats and looking for some recommendations please..
We have a medium sized dog so would like for it to be suitable for rough terrain for dog walks but also lightweight and easy enough to fold down/back up. Thank you!

We have the out n about which is fantastic through fields, forest, slopes, across roots etc. have just bought the out n about double too.

they do fold but I wouldn’t call it lightweight!

we used to have a bugaboo fox which is described as all terrain, but it’s definitely not

That’s interesting, the bugaboo fox has come up on lots of lists but having struggled with my friends one just on grass I was skeptical! Thank you ☺️

Not a 3 wheeler ime. Did a nice full twist once accompanied by baby ds and a huge rottweiler trying to get to a dog across the road... Not a flattering look.

Babyjogger CMGT, loved mine when DS was little, walking 2 lurchers.

Yeah, my impression of the fox was it’s a town pram - but if you’re going on a country park type walk then it’s fine. But if you live more rurally and go through fields and off road then it’s not great - and definitely not for the cost.

Echo pp the out n about. I had the twin nipper and could manage the rocky coastal path.

Yes the Babyjogger City Mini GT, but ideally an older one rather than the most up to date version; they are built like tanks but super easy to fold down and not too heavy. I had ours all over the place. Mountain Buggy excellent too; we had a duet which can also be used as a single, useful if you are planning more than one child. Not as easy to fold and heavier though.

Is this going to be your only buggy, or is it one you specifically want for a lightweight option and for off-road walks? Either way, I have a Mountain Buggy Swift, which is a lightweight multi-terrain 3-wheeler. I can push this with one hand across country tracks, gravel, fields etc. while walking a reasonably well-behaved dog, and get it though most kissing gates. However, it is quite small so if you or your DH are tall, it might not be the buggy for you. The most recent edition has an extra 9cm on the handlebar, I think, so might be better. If it's going to be your only buggy, you have to be aware that there's always going to be a compromise somewhere, and in this case, it's that you won't easily find a lightweight multiterrain buggy that also has good storage. So you either go a bit bigger and heavier, or you accept that you're going to be bringing a rucksack.

Out n about. Very easy to fold and manage over varied terrain
