Help! Buggie decisions 🤦🏽‍♀️

Hi everyone,

we’ve looked at so many pushchairs and have no idea what to chose!

live in London. Don’t drive so need a pram that is sturdy, long lasting, decent shopping basket even when reclined and easy to use on public transport for everyday use.

The yoyo buggie is a no sadly but the bugaboo dragonfly seems good but people complain about the wheels and unsure if the nuna triv next or Nina swiv is any good.

anyone got any advice from any of these prams that you may of used?

I'm in London and love my nuna triv next! Great on uneven surfaces but still small when folded

StamppotAndGravy · 20/02/2025 06:20

Why not the yoyo out of curiosity? It's normally considered the ultimate city buggy, so if we know what's wrong with it, we can make better suggestions

We live in London and the only buggy I'd consider would have been a yoyo, we've had ours for four years and most people I know who started with bigger buggies later changed to a yoyo. But since we bought ours there are other small models that have come out - the Joolz Aer is meant to be good so might be worth checking out.

The Nuna Triv looks good and high quality but I would find it too chunky for lugging up and down stairs and onto the tube and buses.

If you are near South London, there is an independent baby shop near Croydon that has literally about 100 different buggies to test out. It's also near the big Mamas and Papas on Purley Way, which has buggies to try. I'd recommend going and trying some out. I thought I wanted one particular buggy but when I tried it, I didn't like it.

We have an uppababy vista which I love and we are using it with our second DC now. But it's too big for using on public transport every day - I mostly walk everywhere. Are you sure you will need to be on public transport that often? I found that since having both DC, life tends to become a bit closer nearby. A lot of the smaller buggies have smaller baskets and I couldn't manage without my huge basket!

The yoyo for me is too flimsy and many people I know complain about this but stick with it because is very compact especially for traveling overseas or they have chosen to get another pram and use two buggies instead of one. . Also they drive so it’s easier for them to use and don’t need a large shopping basket. Large shopping basket and firmness is my preference but also public transport friendly.

We found our yoyo fine as an everyday buggy, but sturdiness and weight/size are always going to be a trade off. The heavier ones aren't necessarily more robust, they just feel it. We got the extra bag with a wheel, which turns the yoyo into a small shopping trolley without the risk of tipping. We have no car, live in a small flat and mostly walk to the shop so it had to be light weight enough to push easily, go on the bus, through metro gates, and travel further afield.

I understand and it's good that it works for you. It's defo not the pram for me from what I have seen and those I know, also for my preference and usage I need something that is sturdy, strong and has a large shopping basket for my life style.
Thanks for your input :)

I am in a similar boat Louxavi, there is so much choice and the balance between space and manoeuvrability is tricky to strike! We have been offered a couple of bugaboo bits and I really like that it folds with the bassinet on it. My brother in law and I are developing a little modification to the wheels to solve the clogging issue, I'll let you know how it goes...

I am tallish and found the curved handle of the yo-yo very unergonomic, shame because there is so much yo-yo second hand stuff out there you could save a fortune!

I also really liked one of the Nuno ones I saw in John Lewis, plenty of space and quite robust but new last year so still as expensive as it will ever be! Good luck with the search

What is this place? I might give it a try!

It's called Baby Nest London and it's right behind Purley Way.

Used the Mamas and Papas Ocarro. Absolutely loved it, and it looked so comfortable too. Great on hilly terrain (/ and potholes).

CaptainFuture · 26/02/2025 14:30

Babyjogger citi mini for us, single hand fold if you're ever.required to fold up when on the bus!
