Maxi Cosi Oxford - overnight carry cot?

Just wondered if you can use the Maxi Cosi Oxford carry cot for overnight sleeping? I know you can use some carry cots instead of Moses baskets around the house.

Have tried Googling and keep getting results for the more expensive Fame option. Going slowly mad 😵‍💫

(It's not a deal breaker - would just save a bit of pain when we visit in-laws!)

Anyone?

Looking around I can't see anything on their website or on third party retailer websites saying that it is, so I'd assume either it hasn't been tested or isn't suitable for overnight sleeping.

There doesn't seem to be a product called the Oxford carrycot. The seat on the Oxford pushchair lies flat and is suitable from birth, but it's not a separate carrycot. They recommend using the Sense carrycot with it, and this seems to be the one they bundle with it. They describe this as suitable for use as a travel cot (overnight stays away from home) but they say the mattress isn't as supportive as a proper cot mattress.

So - seems it's sleep safe, but probably not designed to be used every night.

Oh hang on. Sorry. I was on the German site and the UK one either has different names or totally different products - one sec.

BertieBotts · 11/02/2025 16:29

OK - having compared the two sites, the Sense carrycot is NOT the same as the one in the UK Oxford bundle, but I can't find any further information, despite downloading the manual.

I think you'll have to email or message Maxi Cosi customer service to get the answer to this one.

Sorry @BertieBotts and @toastofthetown - didn't get a notification to say anyone had responded!

I should probably have posted a link 🤦🏼‍♀️

but I just wondered if anyone had this carry cot so knew from experience 🤔

"Maxi-Cosi carrycots offer a place to nap, such as during walks. But to ensure a good night's rest, we recommend having your child sleep in a crib at night. The mattress in a crib is thicker, ventilates better, and is therefore specially designed to offer your child a more comfortable night's rest."

I couldn't see any info on their website and I'd imagine it would be a selling point so they would advertise if they did, I know when I had an iCandy 8 years ago it was a big feature point that you could with the Peach, not sure if it's still the same.

@OptimisticRealist2024 have you got the maxi-cosi Oxford? We are thinking of getting one for our little one due in July

OptimisticRealist2024 · 20/02/2025 21:02

@mumaabear Not yet - ours is due end of June so we have a little time to decide!

@OptimisticRealist2024 ahh we must be quite close with our due dates then. I’m finding it so hard to decide on a pram. My partner liked the icandy but it just feels so big and bulky. We live in a flat in the city so I feel like I want something more practical!

OptimisticRealist2024 · 21/02/2025 07:28

@mumaabear I can't quite remember how we got to Max Cosi over the other brands but we're split between the Fame and the Oxford - we think they're identical frame-wise but maybe the Fame has battery charging and other bits we don't care about (and is about £200 dearer for it). But the Mamas & Papas we visited only had the Fame on display. The Fame was very light and compact so fingers crossed the Oxford is, too 🤞🏼We have to have another go at the anomaly scan today and then I think we'll see if local John Lewis has an Oxford in stock so we can ask questions and test it. Buying a pram feels like a (very expensive) minefield...

Iv seen the fame too and agree that the extras just don’t seem important to us. The joolz is also another one that I want to look at again. I’m actually off to John Lewis again today with my mum as she’s abit more helpful than my partner with thinking practically!
