Cosatto Giggle 4

Hi all

I’m currently pregnant with my first baby and in a panic about prams. The Giggle 4 looks quite good value but I’ve heard previously that the Cosatto car seats aren’t safe. Has the safety of these been upgraded now? Does anyone have the Giggle 4 and is it any good?

TIA

The infant car seats by Cosatto have always been fine when they have been tested by ADAC - for example the Acorn was tested in 2023 and got a "Good" rating overall, and "Very good" for safety.

It's the ones for older children/all stages which people aren't as keen on, so don't worry :) and TBH "not safe" is a bit of an exaggeration anyway - the problems with their all-stages seats tend to be that they don't give a great fit and they can be tricky to use and they don't perform quite as well as some other brands in crash testing. They do still pass the legal requirement to be sold and they will still provide crash protection. If you're in the market for a car seat past the baby stage, I would look at brands other than Cosatto. But I wouldn't have a problem using the baby seats that they sell.

If you prefer, you can also use a car seat from another brand on the Cosatto frame using the adapters which come with the travel system sets. Those adapters are standard multi-brand ones which will accept car seats from Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Britax, Nuna, Joie, Besafe and Avionaut.
