Help! Double pram needed for holiday for nearly 5 year old and 2 year old

Hi All!

I'm after recommendations for a cheap and comfortable double pram for a nearly 5 year old and 2 year old for a holiday we're going on in May. Our flight will be a night time flight so whilst my 5 year old is more than capable of walking, it's going to be the middle of the night when we get there and we won't be able to carry him, push a pram and all our suit cases at the same time.

The challenge I'm finding is finding a pram that can carry more than 15kg. I've seen the Cosatto Woosh double pram which goes up to 22kg, but reviews seem a bit hit or miss.

Out n about nipper double would be the ideal pram, but I'm not wanting to spend that kind of money for a pram I want to use for one holiday and even second hand ones are expensive and hard to come by!

Any advice?! Or am I anticipating a problem that won't be a problem and just use our standard single pram for the 2 year old?! :D

I'd use a single pram and attach a buggy board to it so you've got the option of him standing (or sitting depending on which one you get) on that if he's too tired to walk. It'll be much cheaper than getting a pram you'll only use once.

What @xmasdealhunter says - get a buggy board. The Lascal ones are near enough universal if there isn’t one for your pram.

could you borrow a stroller off someone to use and just take 2 buggies?

We took 2 buggies and found it better than a double when we were travelling recently

gave option of taking each child out separately

I found we used it loads cus we stayed out late loads and we even the older one took naps A lot with the heat and it was great for tired legs

Ah i remember this with my eldest two. Dont bother with a double buggy. On the way home the 5yo got the buggy, the 2 yo got carried asleep. Take a backpack not a wheely case.

The weight limit is just what they have to test to in the UK. Same buggy different country can show a different weight.

You might find something like the Outwell transporter more appropriate to your needs though instead of a double buggy. Can fit both DCs in, or beach stuff for a trip. Stick a pillow in the bottom and comfy for a snooze. Folds up small and will likely survive rough baggage handlers better than a pushchair.

You get wheely suitcases with seats on top for kids, a bit like saddles. Would that work? Much cheaper than even a second hand buggy and you'd be able to use it in future for youngest too.
