Newborn to 4 years

Hi mums,

im looking to buy the Joie litetrax pebble push chair. I wanted to know if I can put a new born straight into the pram or will I need a separate carry cot? The description for almost all the pushchair by Joie say suitable for newborn. But a bit unsure. Please let me know your thoughts.

Also, in the range of £150 to £200 do you have a better recommendation for a push chair that folds and is suitable for a new born to a few years?

I had a Litetrax with DS1 and Verstrax with DS2. They need the carry cot attachment for newborns. Both of mine were 90th percentile plus but they did at least 3 or 4 months in the carry cot and could have done with a bit longer to be honest but they were so long. The pen doesn’t lie completely flat and it just wouldn’t be secure for a little scrunchy newborn. I really liked both prams however. I dot. Think you would fit a 4 year old in. DS2 is still using it at 2 and it’s unnecessary really but I don’t want to buy a more lightweight one for one dog walk a day.

Ok. It's just that I've ready so many reviews where the carry cot is used just 2 -3 times during the entire time. As well space is an issue. I really don't want to get it if it is not needed.

What do you think of the litetrax pro? Is it better at the recline you think?

I preferred the verstrax to the litetrax as it was parent facing as well as world facing and a few extra little features. Plus when we used the carry cot or or car seat attachment you could take the pram bit out but when we used it on the lietrax it sort of fitted on top. Both were very nice prams, I have a mini and they fold to fit in the boot really well.

How often will you be out walking in those first few months? It’s every time you go out that you use it, unless you think you would use a sling more when they are little?

I don't imagine I would go out much since winter is coming . I suppose I could make do with a sling more in that case in the first few months. What age do you think can the baby go into the pram without a carrycot?

I checked back through photos and both of mine went in to the pram itself around 3 months. They were both summer babies and we were out a lot so got a lot of use out of them. Check out fb marketplace for the carrycot if you think you might use it. Or wait until baby is here? If you find yourself thinking that you would really need one then you could buy the adapters and carry cot separately.
