Please help me find my unicorn stroller (Compact all terrain)

We’ve a mountain buggy urban jungle which has been fabulous but DS is now 2.5 and we really only use it on rainy walks to nursery now, we don’t take it on country walks anymore.

And it’s huge and heavy - it takes up so much room in the corner of the kitchen (no handy utility or boot room in our house) and we don’t take it places often because it fills up the entire boot.

We have a second hand silver cross umbrella fold which we’ve taken on holiday but I’m really looking for one all purpose stroller that is:

  • compact
  • not too heavy
  • goes up to 22/25 kg as DS is large
  • sturdier and better suited to varying terrains (eg bumpy pavements and a bit of unpaved track now and again) than the silver cross without needing to be a total off roader like the mountain buggy
  • under £200 either new or second hand

Help!

We had an uppababy visa and it is too heavy though all terrain.

We have for holidays and the odd trip I bought an Oyster 3. It is excellent across fields, light and my son seems comfortable at 3.5. I paid £50 on marketplace.

I wish we had just had the oyster 3 from new born. A very good pram and good value from money, even new.

Outnabout nipper or one of the babyjoggers?

We have a Britax Romer B-Agile pushchair (exact model not made anymore I think) that fits most of your criteria. I wouldn't call it "all terrain", but it's done a lot of cobbled streets and a fair number of country paths. Have taken it on the beach, even. Wouldn't handle serious mud or anything. We use it everyday in a bumpy, historic city with many hills.

Compact fold, fine folded on bus/train, not heavy, goes up to 25kg I think (we got it when massive DD outgrew her first pushchair, and it's now done two years with DS too). Basket is ok. No big complaints except after 3.5 years of heavy use one of the wheels is getting a bit erratic!

Just checked, they're £250 new but often on a deal - Boots has them for £211 at the moment, for example.

Get a yoyo. It’s honestly fine on basic bumpy paths and stuff. We have used all over Europe on cobble stones or dodgy paths. It’s up to 22kg (poss 25kg the new 3 version). My Ds is now 105cm and fits in fine

we also have mountain buggy as main pram, but I love the yoyo. It lives folded on a hook also so compact to store.

I would not get a Yoyo. They're fine for cities but not good off road at all. I love ours, but it's definitely not something you'd take for a walk in the countryside.

@DappledOliveGroves op says she doesn’t need for off road anymore just uneven pavements. The yoyo is fine for that. We use in parks or gravel paths abroad no issue.

Presumably the same as us. We used mountain buggy daily in woods and fields, but by 2.5 Ds could walk these routes or we just carried in sling on back occasionally. But in towns I used the yoyo longer as it was busy with traffic, or Ds would nap it out all day sightseeing on holiday rather than an hour walk in woods.
