Travelling with a bugaboo donkey/most robust double pram for travelling

Will preface by saying we travel a lot as a family and very much ‘live’ whilst we are away. We need a pram that can withstand curbs, cobbles be comfy enough for naps. It’s not just going to be used to get to a hotel or through airport. Needs to carry shopping. We fly at least once a month. Dh travels for work, I work remotely freelance and family travel is included in perks so are taking advantage of this until the toddler is in school.

we will soon have a newborn and a 2 year 8 month old. People have told me I will be fine with a buggy board but my child is a bolter and needs to be strapped down when I am with the baby. i also know children as old
as 4 who are unreliable walkers or still nap, so I want to future proof this.

I’m looking at the bugaboo donkey because I like how the basket can be added if you only have 1 child- but just wanted to know people’s experiences of taking it on a plane. Will an XL buggy bag hold all of it? Or will they let us put it on in separate parts.

if it’s not a goer- what’s a comfortable actually robust pram that we can look at for a toddler and a little one?

I had a donkey for my twins when they were born. I've never taken it abroad as just thought it was too big. So we got a smaller pushchair for going away. And tbh we have rarely use the donkey since the twins were 11 months old. It is very big, very wide and incredibly heavy. It would of been too big for us to fit in our hire car or taxi to the airport with our luggage too. My husband has a Ford s max (7 seater) and it takes up half of the boot when only 5 seats are up.

I also have an older DD who was 3 (and the laziest child ever) when the twins were born. And we just used a seat buggy board and then if she needed to go in the pushchair put one of the babies in a sling.
