Anyone have experience with the Mamas and Papas Airo or Cyber Beezy?

Both of these look like a good price, I'm looking for a travel buggy that will cope on cobbles, gravel, grass etc for UK and abroad and that will go in or on a plane. They seem to be within one kg of each other and I assume both fold up quite small.

Any insights into either would be appreciated, baby will be at leasts 4 months when we go away, maybe more as we haven't booked yet.

I have the M&P Airo purchased when it came out in 2021. They might have updated it since. I love it. I went for it over a yoyo because of the one handed mechanism. It fits in the space between seats on London buses. I fold it up before I get on, light enough to carry in one hand and baby or toddler on hip on other. Then put in bus where legs would go and toddler’s legs rest on top of it. Means you can sit on top deck when no spaces.

Things I don’t like are that if baby or toddler is lying flat, you must make sure their arms are inside before lifting up. It’s a hazard and luckily I noticed this quickly. I was really upset at the time c and do think it’s a huge design flaw. Other similar pushchairs have a triangle of soft fabric to stop baby putting arms out under handle frame. The soft wire in the hood bent out of shape within a few uses, but that’s aesthetic didn’t impact usage. You can walk on the brake. The footrest is too short for toddler to nap and lie flat once 2yo.

The one handed twist handles fold and the shake out to unfold, compact size mean I love it. I’ve since seen many more come on to the market that look better though.

I just had a look at the Cybex Beezy, I think that’s one of the ones I looked at and thought I would have got that! It has the triangle of fabric so their arms can’t get trapped when changing from lie flat to upright, and one pull harness. The 5 point harness on the M&P Airo is a nuisance. However I haven’t tried the Cybex Beezy to know if it collapses and unfolds with ease.

The other popular one is Ergobaby Compact Metro Stroller. It has an approval for being particularly back friendly for adults.

@greenwich23 Thanks, that's useful input! The triangle of fabric issue is good to know about! There's a good offer on a Beezy I've seen that is very tempting. The downside is it seems to be heavier than the M&P Airo, but I wonder if 1kg won't make much difference when in use?

I might look at some youtube videos of them, it's hard to know what to do when buying online.

The Ergobaby is a bit pricier, but I'll check that out too. We're already 40+ so anything that's good for backs is a bonus.

I’ve got a Cybex Beezy and I love it. It’s really light and easy to use, folds down small and I can put it up one handed. It’s not as steady as a bigger pram would be on rough ground but we manage fine. I’ve used it on cobbles and grass and woodland and it’s been bumpy but ok - loose gravel was a bit tricky though. I’d recommend it.

@UsernameUnknown444 thanks for replying, that’s handy to know. Has it had to go in the hold of a plane and has it held up well?

I haven’t taken it on a plane so can’t help with that, sorry!

@thislittlebird I've taken our Beezy on about 20 flights and it's always gone in the hold - I bought the travel bag for it for extra protection. It's been amazing and we've used it as a daily stroller for ages now (had the wonderful Cybex Priam but as little one got older the Beezy was more practical). He still has great naps in it and we've been all over with it. The lie flat function and the larger wheels were important to me. It's fab.
