Travel System Recommendations

Currently 30 weeks pregnant and looking for recommendations for a travel system.

I have been holding off looking at any in shops due to previous loss of my first little one and current complications this time round. Trying to at least do some research so things can be ordererd last minute when baby is here safe and well.

Info / Requirements:

  • Live in house and likely to go on pavement walks wherever possible and out dog walking - we do live in the countryside so need an all terrain option but hope to use a sling when in the woods etc
  • I struggle to lift heavy things so need to be able to easily get in and out of car boot (have a small 4x4)
  • I drive and would like to get around easily going into town, shopping centres etc
  • Would like it to last as long as possible through to toddler years (how long can they last in them?)
  • Decent storage basket for days out - bonus points if a little dog can hop in!
  • Budget can be flexible

Finally if I get a maxi cosi car seat or similar - will this fit most prams if I have an iso fix base?

Thank you for any recommendations

What price point are you looking at? I started with an icandy (do not recommended - far too heavy past 6 months) and then got a bugaboo bee which I LOVED as was perfect for city, easy to fold and coped with all terrain I threw at it. Honestly considered having another baby just to use the bugaboo again.

Tbh once they’re toddler size you want a cheap lightweight thing you that folds up small enough you can carry under one arm whilst dragging a screaming toddler down the road with both hands who doesn’t want to walk/get in pushchair/be carried. Much fun 😂

No price point as such…happy to invest something to match our needs as long as it lasts.
thats a great help thank you as I candy has been mentioned to me previously!
I will make note on the toddler antics 😂

Realistically nobody I know used a travel system beyond 12m as a toddler doesn't need all the extras and it's just easier to transport a smaller, lighter stroller (in a car or on public transport). So although a travel system can hold up to 22kg you'd be unlikely to use it through the toddler years. We are city based though so didn't need all terrain wheels - you'd need to look at proper tyres for that, which tends to mean a big heavy pram.

We have an Uppababy Vista, which fits nearly all your requirements. It's great off road, giant basket underneath but still fine round town. It is a bulkier pram, but I've never found it excessively heavy - although I'd check that before buying.

We got ours second hand which I'd really recommend - they're built really well and we saved a ton of money!

We're still using it at 18 months as I love the basket space, although we do also have an umbrella stroller.

Hi All

Went and had our first look at prams today and have another appointment at John Lewis this week.

I think the uppa baby vista is too big for me unfortunately.

We did decide on the cybex cloud T car seat so that felt productive - found it lighter than the maxi cosi.

Pram wise we looked at the egg 3 and the oyster 3.
Leaning more towards the oyster 3 at the moment but just wondering how it would
handle country side
walks, parks etc. does anyone have any experience with this?

Egg is beautiful but found the handle bar really big! Almost like it was hard to grip. And the basket was quite small but liked the fact the bassinet was approved for overnight sleeping.

so many pros and cons to all the options!

Oyster 3, recommend 100%.
