Looking for an easy to push buggy with adjustable handle (adult between 5 ft 3 & 6 ft 2)
Forward and back facing, carrycot - we dont need a carseat

Must collapse easily and be easy to push

Last time I bought a buggy from new was for DD & she is now 26! We are looking for an idea of brand then buying second hand

Help!

Most buggies that forward face aren't easy to collapse as you usually have to remove the seat. The Bugaboo Bee was good, but still had small wheels so limited in terms of easy to push, and it's discontinued now.

Oh that's a shame!

What would be best without that criteria?

If you want an easy to collapse pram then it'd have to be a stroller. Travel systems aren't compact. We have a Cosatto Wow 2 travel system and we're similar heights to you and your DH. The handle extends, which is good for tall DP!

I have the mamas and papas ocarro.

The seat faces both ways, and can be folded one handed quite easily with the seat unit on. Have to take the carrycot off to fold it.

Amazing pushchair, huge basket and pushes like a dream. Has an adjustable handle and you can pick them up on marketplace pretty cheap.

Only downside is that it's heavy to carry when folded.

You could have a Google of the Mamas and papas flip xt.

Uppababy Vista is great for everything bar easy to collapse. It's not hard, and the frame stands vertically when folded which is handy, but it does fold in two pieces. Very easy to push one handed though. And DH and I both love it, similar heights to you two.

I have the Cybex balios s lux. Folds with seat facing both ways in one piece. Lovely to push and great suspension. Would say it's relatively compact for a travel system and decent size basket

Yup, I second this. We have had the vista and the Cruz and they’re bulky when folded but it isn’t difficult per se. The Cruz definitely folds in one piece with the toddler seat on when forward facing. Don’t think I’ve ever actually tried to fold when the toddler seat is facing in. The carry cot doesn’t fold on the frame but you can do something with the internal struts to collapse that, too.

Takes up a lot of room in the car, but less than the silver cross our friend put in the boot once - was v surprised at that!

Another vote for UppaBaby Vista. I can fold mine in one piece with the toddler seat facing either direction, but the carrycot has to be removed before folding. We got ours second hand and is on our second kid and we still love it. Bulky and heavy to get in and out of the car, but a huge basket and really robust and easy to push.

That's what I was going to recommend. Carrycot attachment then a seat that goes forward or rear facing. To fold you have to take the carrycot off but with the seat in it folds with one hand, doesn't matter which way the seat is facing.

Baby jogger city mini GT with cot for newborn.

Best pram I've ever used.

APurpleSquirrel · 07/06/2024 21:40

My DC are now 9 & 6; but we had a Cosatto Giggle travel system that we used for both - carry cot, forward & backwards facing; could collapse with both the carry cot & forward facing seat if I remember. 3 wheels, adjustable handle, easy to put down & up. All in all one of the best purchases we made.

Autumn1990 · 07/06/2024 21:44

It might be worth just getting a cheap second hand travel system for the first couple of months and then getting a new stroller. I’ve had the silver cross pop for 6 years now and it still pushes and works like new. It is from birth but they look very vulnerable in it when they’re so small!
City mini is good as well. I had that in the double model. Really easy fold.

User478 · 07/06/2024 21:48

Also came to say the Baby jogger GT

So easy to fold, you won't need to buy anything else. You can add the carrycot, but you don't need to as it lies flat.

Second this.

Look at Cosatto . We have an old model they don't sell anymore but it's still going strong 6yrs after we bought it and on second child. Our third is coming along in the autumn and we will continue to use it for them. They're fantastic and the 4yr guarantee is great.

KatyMac · 08/06/2024 08:28

Thanks I'll look on fb marketplace for those brands/models

Another vote for the Mamas and Papas Ocarro - my DD has one for my DGD and it’s so easy to push, even for grandma, and really good on any terrain. Easy to fold whichever way it’s facing.

Have used the Baby Jogger GT2 for 15 months now and it's a dream to push and folds easily with one hand! It really does just push itself! It doesn't have a parent facing mode though. The bassinet was great until about 5 months when our son started to outgrow it (average sized baby). He actually preferred the carrycot to his moses basket so slept in it overnight from 2 weeks old until 5 months!
