Pushchair vs walkers which has priority in buggy space

First time posting as in need of advice.

Bit of background my son is nearly 2 years old but I always take him in his buggy on the bus if going to swimming due to having extra bags. Every Wednesday when we go there is always a couple with a walker and the person who doesn't use it, sits on it in the buggy area even though there are disabled seats opposite. So if there is another buggy parked in the wheelchair space and this couple are on the bus I usually have to park my sons buggy in the disabled seats as this couple refuse to move from the buggy space.
Any ideas or suggestions on what I can do as I don't like putting the buggy by the disabled seats

Mobility equipment and those who need to use it take priority over a healthy adult and healthy child in an unfolded pushchair.

A pushchair is a large piece of luggage for you to take on a bus, it’s reasonable to assume there might not always be space for it.

This, a Walker is obviously for mobility purposes OP cannot expect them to move for her

It isn't a "buggy space " it's priority seating for people with disabilities or the elderly that person was there first regardless of where the walker was your problem is with the bus company and designers of buses not the person sitting on your perceived right for space, fwiw I agree the lack of spaces is terrible but it isn't your buggy space.

Presumably the person who needs the walker is more infirm so needs to sit down safely, the partner looks after the walker to stop it tipping or moving during the journey.

If a wheelchair wanted to get on, I imagine the driver would ask you to move to the pushchair space, at which point you/driver would ask the couple to move?

This the man was just looking after her and .the equipment.

No because the Walker still takes priority over the pushchair as it's used for accessibility/disability

They have before folded the walker with no issue but its the woman who uses it who shouts at her partner to sit on it even though he suggests folding it. Sometimes they are in the wheelchair area and the woman sits in the buggy space even though there is priority seats opposite that other people with walkers use. Also there is no space on the bus to put a folded buggy

Maybe she know (because of his possible hidden disability) that he will pay for it later with a pulled muscle or something if he folds then unfolds it. Maybe she is anxious that if it is folded she won't be able to leave the bus quickly in case of an emergency. You are so sure you are in the right and this couple are in the wrong, I'm not sure why you started this thread.

But if you 100% are sure they are just doing it to be bloody-minded though, next time speak to the driver about it, and let him make the call as to who is most entitled to the space..

I definitely will be asking the driver next time thank you for the advice I just don't want people to think that I am being entitled as I am not the only person who has had issues

"PUSHCHAIR SPACE"...Really?
I'm disabled so let me put you ALL straight as per The Equality Act 2010. Wheelchairs have first priority followed by disabled people (Including Rollators or "Walkers"). If non of the aforementioned are using the space a pushchair user can use the space, however should a disabled person get on the bus and NEED the space, space MUST be made available...There is no such thing as a PUSHCHAIR area on a UK bus. That's the law!

Either they are dicks or they can't fold the walker. If it's one with a firm seat it's possible that it's actually to hard for the user to fold it and then put it somewhere without having it to lean on. Either way, they have priority. If they are in the buggy space then you could sit in the wheelchair space with the buggy. Assuming there isn't a wheelchair on board. If there is then the people with walking aids have priority over the unfolded buggy, so you either fold the buggy or wait for the next bus. Maybe looking in to getting a buggy you CAN fold? I am disabled too and spent ages finding a buggy I could fold.
