Buggy recommendations ?yo-yo worth it for flexibility or better options out there?

MIL has kindly offered to buy us a new lightweight stroller/ buggy. Looking for recommendations please!
1x 20 month old.
New baby due in December but think we would still prefer just a single lightweight buggy for now. Would be just for small walks to the park or shops when DD gets fed up of walking and any trips away really, more likely in the car than by plane. Something that folds small and is light. Would it be worth getting a babyzen yo-yo so we have the option to add a newborn pack and buggyboard later? I’ve heard it can be quite unstable and doesn’t sit up straight enough for a toddler? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was considering the yoyo, but I’ve got the joolz aer with the foldable bassinet. It’s a proper bassinet, feels really cosy and the push chair set up we tried felt a lot less flimsy than the yoyo. Super easy to fold and unfold one handed as well

It collapses well for air travel but it’s a pain to get in the bag. DD did tip herself over in it as a 2yr old during an almighty tantrum (she was 99 the percentile for height though so bigger than most 2yr olds). DH could open it fairly easily but I always struggled with the damn thing. Plus points are that it’s adaptable. On the whole it was ok and if I were planning to be flying a lot it would be a reasonable option. It is a decent enough pram, easily manoeuvrable etc. I didn’t need a buggyboard but I did get the bag attachment thing but I’m quite short so had to lean over while pushing it because my arms were too short to comfortably push it without constantly kicking the bag.

I’m 7 years into daily use of the YoYo. There’s a lot I love about it- it’s comfy and roomy for toddlers, you don’t need a bassinet and can keep the one piece fold and ensure your newborn is securely strapped in on public transport, it has a shoulder strap so can carry it hands free, everything can be removed and shoved in the washing machine, with the 6 months + set up the recline is good for naps, there’s a handy pocket under the handlebar for your phone and keys. However, the buggy board is awful. The toddler goes in front of the non moveable handlebar and unless you have unhumanly long arms you have to do a weird twisty thing where you walk to the side to push it that actually hurts if you do it for too long. Just about doable if your age gap is 3.5 years and you’ll use it on the rare occasion your eldest gets tired on a long day out but I’d go as far to say it’s unusable for prolonged daily use. With a 2 year gap I’d get something else as I think you’ll be using the board a lot.

Agree with pp, the Yoyo is great for a singleton or if you only have one child with you (I use it when eldest is at nursery). I have a Bugaboo Bee and found it's much better for using with a buggy board, as the handle extends so the child can stand inside it and the board doesn't get in your way when pushing it. But it's heavier than the Yoyo and doesn't fold small enough for planes, though it is fine for a car or pushing on to buses unfolded.

We ended up actually going for the ergobaby metro maxi because there was a deal on at boots, plus an extra 10 percent off with advantage card deals so it worked out pretty cheap! I know we weren’t buying but I felt bad asking MIL for the yo-yo, even though she offered! Only used it once so far but love it! We are just going to use it as the general buggy for the oldest now and deal with plans for the new baby a bit closer to the time! We have a pram with a bassinet and lie flat seat already anyway so could fit a buggy board on that for short distances when we have 2! Thanks for all the help!
