Bugaboo Dragonfly or Nuna Triv Next?

Hey all, first time mum to be here and baby girl due in July, based in West London :)
Currently trying to decide on a pushchair and after being to Mamas&Papas and John Lewis we have narrowed it down to these two based on their recommendations according to our lifestyle and needs:

  • Bugaboo Dragonfly
  • Nuna Triv Next

Any current owners of these two prams that can give an opinion/review? Any specific pros/cons I should take into account when making a decision?

Also if you do have another pram to suggest that fits the below criteria, please do share :)
Our criteria:

  • We live in South Ealing so an urban area.
  • No car so we'd need to use public transport
  • Needs to be lightweight and as easy to fold as possible for when I'm just by myself with the baby (without my partner to help with folding/unfolding the pram).
  • However, we are looking to ideally have just 1 main pram (so no bulky pram + another 'travel pram' but just one that can be a middle option). This is why we've ruled out the YoYo or other similar super compact prams that might have 'weaker' wheels.
  • Needs to have reversible seat + bassinet.
  • Besides tube/bus, to be used mainly on roads and for walks in the nearby parks, no rough terrain.
  • We live in a ground floor spacious flat so stairs or space aren't an issue.

Thanks in advance!

Hi lujuarez, we could have written the same post as we are in the exact same situation and weighing up both options. Curious to find out which one you decided on in the end? We are leaning towards the dragonfly, but interested in your decision as well as any other parents who have experience with either pram, thanks!

Hi! we ended up getting the Dragonfly
baby isn't born yet so haven't tried it, but we decided on that one mainly due to having seen reviews about the Nuna being more suitable for people with a car.
We don't have a car and the fact that the Dragonfly could be folded WITH the carrycot seemed super useful when out and about without a car.
hope this helps!

Hi @lujuarez we are also in the same position - on the cusp of getting the dragonfly, how are you finding it? (Assuming baby born now!) Or anyone else very intrigued to hear thoughts, thank you

Hi Ivy, we also ended up with the bugaboo dragonfly! We spent an hour at John Lewis where they had both, comparing the two models with one of the sales assistants. Although the bugaboo was a few hundred more, it felt more solid and the functionality just neater and more considered - the nuna seemed to have an extra step for everything, including the fold. The benefit with the nuna is definitely that it folds more compact (it’s not as tall folded as the bugaboo), but I believe the bassinet had to be removed all the same, which isn’t the case with the bugaboo. Out and about the bugaboo has perfectly fit the London buses and tube, and it steers nicely for tight corners of supermarkets and restaurants. The bottom storage has been great for shopping trips and takes a good weight. It can be a bit of a bumpy ride on uneven pavements, but baby hasn’t minded too much and it probably just seems like a lot now as baby is only two weeks old and still very small and delicate looking. As soon as she gets a little bigger it’ll probably feel less of an issue. I imagine a bumpy pavement will be handled the same by the nuna.

Hi all ,

I assume you have had enough experience so far .. I am now in the same position as you were ..

Could you please advise me if there are any cons?
Thank you

The only con I have experienced so far with the dragonfly is when it was early autumn the wet leaves would stick to the two front wheels. The gap between the wheels and the frame is really narrow, we’ve had leaves stuck in there a few times and you can hear them fluttering as you push but it doesn’t stop the pram from rolling. They are quick to pull out if needed. It also isn’t the best on the commons, a hybrid pram would be much better than a city pram for off terrain - again mainly because of the smaller wheels. Once I have had to use a stick and my keys to unblock a wedge of mud/grass that was stuck which was quite frustrating. I avoid any mud or soft ground at all costs now! I’m not sure what the nuna is like in comparison. I still love it for all the other perks. We took it on a short flight a few weeks ago, again super easy to collapse with bassinet at the gate before boarding. We used a stokke pram pack bought on Vinted to protect it from any damage, and it rolls up and fits underneath.
