Second hand travel system - how old is too old?

Hi,

A very kind neighbour has offered us their iCandy travel system for free (excluding a car seat of course).
They have said it’s in great condition however it is 7 years old. I believe they have used it for two children.

Am I crazy not to take it or is the age a concern?

Take it! If you need to upgrade you can do it down the line. Prams may get a bit scruffy but there won’t be anything inherently wrong or dangerous with it, assuming she has generally looked after it. Babies tend to out grow travel systems pretty quickly anyway - wish I had got ours second hand tbh!

We weren't bothered by the age, ours was older. Just got it cleaned by a local pram cleaning service :)

Prams are fine as long as everything is still working.

Best to get your own new car seat :) You can put Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Joie, Nuna on that or the new Britax ones.

By the time we managed to have second dc the pram system we bought our first was 6.5 years old, it's doing brilliantly second time around. I just washed what I could for a freshen up and wd40 on a stiff wheel which has been fine ever since. I bought a new car seat to go with it.
