Worth getting a second hand pram that's scratched?

Hey all! I've found the pram I want (mamas and papas strada) and I've managed to find it second hand from a company that refurbishes them so I know it's clean :)

Only thing is, from the pictures it has quite a lot of scratches on the handle and chassis. Just wondering really how scratched prams get? I know I should buy the cheaper option (it would save us £200 overall and I would buy the car seat new seperately) and I think I just need someone to tell me to stop being silly and buy the cheaper one!

It's not scratches I'd be worried out! We bought a 2nd hand Joolz as we just couldn't stomach the price of a new one and thought a well made good quality pram would be fine.

However... after a year or so, we noticed some clear signs of wear and tear (obviously) such as clunky mechanism, the frame just started to seize up and honestly we regretted just not buying a new one in the first place.

@Treacletoots that's the other thing I'm worried about! And for £200 I'd rather not have that worry!

@elm26 Don't get me wrong £200 is a lot to me too but I agree with what you said! I've managed to find a discount code too so only 160 odd more expensive than second hand :)

I'm due 22nd June, was hoping the Easter sales would be good but I think I've found a better deal anyway - on affordablebabycare.co.uk if anyone's used it before? Also cheap on trendy baby.

It's hard isn't it! We've been lucky enough to have a Moses basket, a barely used baby rocker/chair thingy and lots of lovely second hand clothes from family and close friends.

If you're planning on having more than one, I'd definitely go new too.

I was only 14 weeks when we bought the pram in Black Friday sale but we paid the deposit then the full amount had to be paid before delivery which we chose for 4 months later (just in case anything bad happened, I've had lots of miscarriages so felt silly buying a pram to early but the sale was too good to refuse).

Congratulations xx
