Cheap pushchair for new born holiday

Hi all
After some advice. I'm due to go on holiday this summer with my baby who will be about 2 1/2 months old. The pushchair we have is a Bugaboo cameleon with a carry cot which I think is too big to try to take (although some friends are saying it will be fine).
Can anyone recommend a cheapish compact stroller that is suitable for a new born?
Thanks!

What’s your budget?
Most bog standard cheap compact pushchairs aren’t suitable for babies under six months. You need one with a lie flat feature and good support as they are not as sturdy at that age.

I had a silver cross reflex. It comes with a newborn head hugger , lie flat feature and is a fantastic big adjustable hood which is great. I sued it for two babies one from newborn right up to about three and a half . It’s not too heavy either.

there’s also a one like this from
silver cross which is a bit smaller but the hood is much less effective
It’s suitable from birth though

Have a look on marketplace. It only needs to last a week then you can sell it back into the community for what you paid.

Just buy an XL pram bag, wheel to the gate, decant into a bag.

my pram is bigger than yours and I have traveled with with it a few times- I put my isofit base in the bassinet and then popped the bassinet and the wheels in a bag. the bag wouldn’t close completely but I lined the opening with a bin bag I had brought to stop it getting messy. Tied up the draw string, all was well.

I wouldn’t put such a tiny baby in a cheap holiday pram. They need something comfortable and sturdy. It will be cumbersome to fold and pack and the gate, but it’s really 5-10 minutes of your time.

Your baby will also be able to sleep in their bugaboo bassinet- which is a plus.

but it depends on your budget. A good travel pram is a nice to have item. If you can afford a babyzen yo-yo or a nice silver cross jet travel pram which are sturdy and fine, then it might be a good investment. The miniuno travel pram is good too but not for such a tiny baby. But the yoyo and silver cross travellers are still like £200+ secondhand.

My personal preference would be to take the bugaboo and carrycot, for baby's comfort. We do have a bag for it, its just so big (bigger than a suitcase). I'm happy to check it and have baby in a sling. We were just more concerned about wheeling that along with 2/3 suitcases and managing our 3 year old!

You won’t need to….you push baby in pram as you usually would, all the way to the airport and through security and then you collapse at the gate.

Then at the other end when you reclaim bags, you just assemble the pram again.

You won’t need to carry the big bag anywhere.

I would just take bugaboo also at 2 months. As you can use carrycot for overnight sleeping you will save space not having to take travel cot also.

I would pack pram into bag at home, and other essentials like baby blankets/nappies/ pram toys all into it. Then you save space on needing extra other cases. Baby in sling at airport.

I do have babyzen yo-yo, but it’s not for overnight sleeping. I think I would use it in main seat from 2.5 months if needed, just add soft liner, especially if only for a week, it lies flat enough.
