Should I ditch the pram for a stroller?

Or will I regret it? I've been offered one for free but we would have to get rid of pram if we took it.

A stroller seems much more compact and less hassle for us but will my 15mo be uncomfortable/wet/cold on the 30min sister's school run each morning?

Pram seems cosier/more padded but stroller wouldn't take as much room in our car boot.

Advice?

Which stroller is it? In theory I think it's absolutely fine at 15 mths but really depends on the stroller

You should be able to fold the stroller up so should be able to keep both as long as you fold the stroller up for storage. I use to fold mine up with the foot muff inside it. Though we randomly used one when DD was 18 months and stopped using it when she was 3.

Why would you need to get rid? I agree that both have been useful, and it's nice to have the option. Stroller should be fine though if your 15mo has a proper coat, especially if you use with a nice cosy footmuff.

We went straight to buggy at 4 months. Buggy had a pram basket attachment but my kids all hated it and preferred sling until sitting unsupported.

Depends on the pram and the stroller. We have an ocarro and although it's heavy to get in and out of the car its fantastic to push, great on uneven ground etc so I wouldn't swap as I find most strollers difficult to push one handed. Can also attach a buggy board for the older one.

Thank you all for your comments.

Since my original post I inherited a Chicco stroller - tried it for a day but decided it wasn't for us as the handles didn't extend high enough, my feet kept kicking the wheels and as it had two handles rather than a single bar, it wasn't practical when wheeling with one hand (these things you mentioned in pp's). I also felt the suspension was poor so it rattled my little one a fair bit on the uneven footpath around our house.

I was hoping that if the stroller worked, it would be more practical in terms of storing it (far less cumbersome and chunky) as well as folding it into the car boot. My pram isn't great to fold and is rather heavy but I prefer it over the stroller we tried.

So as you said, these sorts of things depend on the pram or stroller you're comparing but one doesn't know what checklist they're looking for unless they try.

Just thought I'd update the post in case someone else finds it helpful. 😊
