Mountain Buggy duet V3 or Baby jogger city select double lux

Hiya I'm expecting twins soon as I cant decide between the mountain buggy duet or baby jogger city select lux (double tandem). I want to be able to get the babies ready in the pushchair in the house and get through my front door. I am maining going to use them for the school run shopping and little walks. The school run can be difficult with parked cars on the pavement so that's why I need either a narrow side by side or tandum. I just can't decide. I love the idea of the duet having the baby's facing me side by side as can see them both but only thing that concerns me is the seat widths being too small. My eldest was a tall quite chunky toddler so twins might be the same and then the seat may not last as long if they find them too narrow. The city select seats at 12 inches wide and the duet 11 inches wide. Not much difference height wise. The city select has its cons as I'm worried about the leg space. If anyone has used either can you tell me your thoughts. Thank you

Hiya I had the mountain buggy duet and really liked it. I didn't have twins, I had a two year old and a newborn. I really like the cocoon for the newborn though, it's like a dark little cave thing and I thought he would hate it looking at it initially, but he was so cosy and slept really well in there and loved it. He also fitted in until he was about 6 months old.
Also it's the same width as a single pram apparently although how this is possible I don't know? And the pram has fitted through every door I've tried, the only place it's a bit too wide is a packed charity shop. The toddler seat was wide enough that there was enough room for my older one in it until he stopped using the buggy at 3 and a half.
Other things I liked about it is it's nice to push and goes up and down curbs nicely. Also it has lots of useful attached pocket things for drinks and hats and dummies and your keys/phone etc.
If you want to know anything else specific I'm happy to help you.

Forgot to say the basinet is really quite narrow so would definitely opt for getting two of the cocoons for the twins if you go for the mountain buggy.

Twin mum here with MB duet.
The only real downside for me was the parent facing seats didn't last too long with my two chunks. So they were forward facing a lot sooner than I would've liked. Aside from that I can't fault it.

Thank you both for your help and advice. Very useful. Hi Violet- When you say the bassinet is narrow and it's best to use two cocoons...I not sure which is which? Do you mean it's better to use two carrycots plus? Or do you mean it would be better to go for the cocoon twin? I think there are two types of the cocoons for twins--one that slots onto the toddle seats and one that attaches to the frame itself. The one I have seen to buy on gumtree comes with two single carrycot plus- not sure if they will be too narrow. Also, how easy it is to remove the carrycots and attach the car seats? Thanks for your help

Cacoon - bigger and sits on the buggy seats, easier to take off and on. Downside is I don't think you can forward face, e.g. once they're too big for the cacoon they go straight into forward facing

Carrycot - narrower, attach to the actual frame, can be a pain to attach and remove as you have to line up the clips
Plus- can convert to forward facing seats (carrycot plus version)
You can also tilt the seats for reflux etc

Can get a twin version of both (one big frame)

The car seat attachments are really easy to use and are a god send

Just to throw something else out there-I have the out n about double v4 and it is fantastic

It is slightly wider than mountain buggy but I've never not been able to get it into a shop or doorway.

I went to a baby shop and tried several doubles and this by far the easiest to move, lightest, easiest to fold etc. the carrycots are parent facing and a lot of cocoons also fit in them. My boy was parent facing until 4 months and then was happy with a newborn insert into the seat. It also folds and fits in the back of my fiesta

If you are anywhere near the south east I recommend going to the A3 Baby Barn who have a massive selection out for you to try if you haven't already (including mountain buggy, baby jogger etc)

When I've mentioned forward facing I've meant parent facing 😆

Thank you so much for your comments and help. So I've bought the mountain buggy duet V3.2 but now need to get either the carrycot plus (x2) or the carrycot plus for twins. I understand the individual carrycots plus are difficult to attach on and off the pushchair so maybe I'll be better off with the carrycot plus for twins (plus I do like that the twins will be able to see eachother in there). Has anyone had any experience with the carrycot plus one for twins? How easy is that one to attach on and off the buggy? Also worried I'll have trouble getting in my car as it's so big. I have found a second hand one for sale who used it for the V3 so hopefully it will fit my v3.2 but can't be sure until I buy it and try it.
Ive also just bought the car seat adapters. Have tried them out and have put on my Cybex mamas and pappas car seat but it's now stuck on the adaptor. I can't get it off. Its jammed. So stressed out with it all. Just feel like crying.
