Running pram & regular?

Hi All,

My husband is very keen to get a running pram, we've seen the mountain buggy terrain has an adjust feature on the front wheel so it can swivel and therefore be used as a more "regular buggy" too.
We're torn if we should get a standard buggy and a more specialised running one (second hand) or wether anyone has been fine with using just a running pram for everything.

We live in a very cobbly area so the big wheels seem attractive. We can find space for both but that puts me off a bit. Any advice welcomed.

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for running buggy, we’ve recently updated our best running buggies article with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

I wouldn't want a newborn in a running buggy. They are usually not parent-facing and although some lie flat it wouldn't be my choice.
I also like the convenience of the travel system for clipping a car seat in or using the bassinet when they are small.
We have both but tend to use the running more day to day now our little one is 6months+

There is nothing wrong with happening a new born in a running pram, as long as you don't run with them until 12 months plus.

Many have carseat and parents facing options, including bassinets. But the guidelines differ between each manufacturer.

The mountain buggy has a parent-facing seat for instance called the carrycot plus.

That said we have a dedicated running stroller - a BOB but it's for trail running basically.
