New pushchair help!

R184 · 15/08/2022 11:54

I am looking for a pushchair that has a removable newborn carrycot and then a seat attachment that can be parent and world facing. It also will need to fold in one with the seat on (im aware this isnt possible with the carrycot!) and have a large, easily accessible basket. Does anyone know if this actually exists or is it something I've just made up!! Thanks

I have the cybex gazelle. Does everything you ask except the single hand fold.

Mamas and Papas Strada. Basket isn't huge but it's bigger than some and it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I've just bought the Silver Cross Reef. I've not used it yet (baby is still cooking!) but I think it does everything you're after.

We have venicci tinum. Basket isn't enormous but plenty big enough for us. Very easy to fold and unfold

Maxi Cosi have a few that can do this, check theirs out. I was in general really impressed.

Also Cybex Balios S Lux and Joie Chrome/Versatrax. (Maybe their newer ones too, I haven't looked).

Mamas and Papas Ocarro

I second this, we are still using ours five years later for our second baby. Basket more easily accessible when using the chair rather than the bassinet but the fact you can fold it all up in one is amazing!

Mamas and Papas Ocarro

I third this, such a solid all round great travel system, will be using this for my second too.

Mamas and Papas Ocarro

Is it weird to quote myself!?

Just wanted to say though that despite recommending/loving the Ocarro, it is flipping heavy when you're collapsing it with the pushchair bit still attached. I wouldn't want any other travel system, but just wanted to warn you in case you have any sort of back issues!

Uppababy Cruz. Smaller footprint and cost than the Vista but still has a sizeable basket.

@Hyggeandhugs that's one of a couple of things that ruled it out for us. I don't have any back trouble but I really struggled to lift it to the height needed to get in/out of the car which I do on a daily basis. I found it wasn't just the weight but it seemed an awkward shape to lift

Second the Maxi Cosi Adorra, we were looking for all of these things and the Adorra ticked all boxes.
I am about to use it for my second in a few months, but it's quite heavy tbh and I am not confident I would go for it now if we were buying another pushchair. I am planning on using it just with the carry cot attachment and switch to a stroller when baby can go in the seat unit.

We've got the Uppababy Cruz. I've used the Vista a lot previously for work (nanny) but I liked that the Cruz had a smaller footprint.

However if you're going to have two close in age get the Vista, because you can convert it easily to a double where you can't with the Cruz.

Even if you think you definitely won't want another for a few years and then your baby gets to a year old and you suddenly get incredibly broody and now you're going to have 2 under 2 but can't bring yourself to spend yet more money on a double buggy Blush

Another vote for uppababy vista (although a friend has the cruz and i think that is also a good pushchair if you aren't thinking about a double)

Thanks ladies, il have a look at all of these. This is actually for baby #3, my second will be just turned 3 so probably won’t use a double although i would love to contain her as she is a flight risk!!!

I was given a double by a friend when I had my third, my last two are three years apart, it did actually come in handy! I definitely didn't need it but it has been a nice to have. Def recommend a Boba Air sling, DS3 fit in it from about 6 weeks and that was fantastic when DS2 just hit a wall of tiredness/unreasonableness and needed to use the buggy.

Do you have the inglesina aptica? I saw it in a shop and it looks great so really considering it, but I can't find hardly any real life reviews online. If you have one, what are your thoughts?
