Yoyo2 vs Bugaboo Bee 6

Hello!

I am a soon to be mum who has entered the overwhelming world of researching pushchairs.

The two that we really like are the Babyzen yoyo2 and the bugaboo bee 6. We like both of them as we will be moving to Singapore and be living in a busy city and won’t have a car so will be using public transport as our means of getting around! also another consideration is it will be extremely hot!

would love to know anyone who has either and their thoughts on if they enjoy it or if not?

Following as interested too! I visited family in central London last weekend and it seemed like every other pram was a yoyo so for a busy fast paced city maybe that one? I was unsure about the bassinet bit so considering it from 6 months

Have a look at the Joolz Aer. It’s only been released in the last year or so as a competitor to the baby zen yo-yo.

it’s much easier to fold away, you literally do one movement with one hand which is easier than the yo-yo. It’s also got a wider seat so lasts longer.

I did a lot of research in to a decent lightweight travel pram for city use and the aer really is great, would recommend

We also looked at Yo-yo vs Aer and the Aer was better in pretty much every respect. Really happy with our choice. The wheels are so much better when the terrain isn’t perfectly flat pavement.

Look at the bugaboo butterfly. Brand new and better features. The yo-yo back is too low for taller kids

briannabelle · 07/06/2022 22:31

Yeah really liked the bugaboo butterfly just was unfortunate there is no newborn bassinet feature.

The joolz aer was also appealing.

In anyones opinion is a travel stroller good for everyday use in terms of size and sturdiness and longevity of use?

Also a consideration of ours is ventilation and sun protection

We use a Yoyo as an everyday pram and for the most part I love it - it's great on public transport, city streets and shops. The newborn pack was very cosy for our baby (we had it before the bassinet came out) but the transition to 6+ was a bit tricky as it's only forward facing, whereas the Bee can face you. It was fine from about 10 months but I found the transition a bit hard. Also, the canopy isn't massive for sun coverage - the Bee one is bigger. But the Bee is much clunkier and less attractive, and the fold isn't as sleek. So I suppose you need to weigh up for options...

Thank you that’s really helpful?

also sorry another question

would you buy any of these secondhand or is it better to get them new?

We have the YoYo as our everyday stroller and no complaints except perhaps that when we lived in Chicago it didn’t handle snow well, but that won’t be a Singapore problem and they’ve now brought out skis anyway! It lasted DC1 until 3.5 and is now on DC2 who is 16 months. Neither were ever bothered about forward facing, they nap really well in it and no issues in hot weather (Chicago summers are really hot!). If you’ll be flying back to see family it’s so handy to have it as a plane carry on too. I bought mine new but it’s definitely long lasting as proved by how long I’ve had it. It’s had one fabric refresh in that time but that was because we stupidly went for gendered colours, not because it wore out or anything like that!

It's definitely worth looking at second hand - there is a specific Yoyo Facebook group for reselling them. But what I would say is that the Yoyo resale value is pretty high, so you won't actually save much. The resale value of the Bee seems to be lower, I think perhaps because they keep bringing out new models, so not sure about the 6 specifically. In general I'd recommend buying baby stuff second hand, but I'm quite glad we got our pram new as it was under warranty and gets so much use every day.

My votes for the Bee, I don't like the world facing only of the yo-yo
