Zummi Halo or other <£500 travel system with tandem option

Hello!

My partner and I are looking for an affordable travel system, if possible around £500 or below, it should be good for a bit of terrain, we don't use public transport much but have a big wild nature park nearby where I think I'll be spending a lot of time. Also would be great if it had the option to upgrade to a tandem as we are thinking to have a second child later on.

At Smith Toys today, the Zummi Halo caught our eye. Does anyone have any experiences with it and could share the pros and contras?

Or does anyone know of another terrain-able travel system in this price range that could be upgraded to a tandem further down the line?

Having just looked at it, it just looks like a normal pram, not for terrain.

a double isn’t really worth having in advance, as different ones suit different age gaps. And they will be much heavier using as single

for an all terrain pram, take a look at something from:
Babyjogger
mountain buggy
thule
out and about nipper

generally your looking at a three wheeler to navigate bumping terrain and non paths.

Thank you so much for your reply!

However I'm wondering if some of the four-wheelers with chunkier wheels and a good suspension aren't also suited for terrain while maintaining good stability?

Maybe not necessarily Zummi Halo, but just wondering if there's anything in a comparable price range (not much more than £500)?
Just don't see why pay 3x unless the product can persuade me that I absolutely can't live without it. 😅

I don’t know, they generally aren’t. They don’t have to be expensive, we bought the mountain buggy swift for less than £500 for example .

ie

You can use from birth in main seat or buy the additional carrycot.

This is probably your best option for terrain and cheaper.

But you do option pay for what you get in prams. Cheaper models will be heavier as steel rather than aluminium frames, bearings plastic and not metal so not as smooth ride, materials not as high quality, fold not as smooth etc etc. it’s the same as asking why some bikes cost £100 and others £1000.

The best option for quality to price is often to buy the higher end pram model but secondhand. Once you know which one your looking for you can look around on fb marketplace for example and often get a £900 pram looking as new for £300. Our mountain buggy wasn’t super expensive, but has been bashed around daily for 2 years and once cleaned still looks as new if we were to sell it.

Thank you Caspianberg! I'll have a look at those. 😀
