Uppababy Vista 2

Hello! I'm looking for any cons, why shouldn't I buy the uppababy vista?

I initially put a deposit down for the mamas and papas Strada, but since seeing the double capability of the vista 2 + it's bigger wheels/ terrain capabilities I'm thinking of switching.

The only con ive spotted so far is that it is fairly bulky but i absolutely love mine. I live in London and get a lot of envy at people nipping on public transport with a babyzen yoyo, but then i remember that i can load up the massive basket and it turns into double (which has also been useful for when we took the train on holiday, we could also attach the car seat to the buggy as well as the usual seat for taking taxis at the other end).

jarbert · 10/03/2022 23:18

Loved our Uppababy. Imo the only con is that it is very big, takes up a lot of space on a busy bus / in your boot.

AMotherGoosey · 11/03/2022 09:15

I love mine, the only major con for me is that the car seat is very heavy. However, as we are hoping to have a second baby in the not two distant future the ease of using as a double buggy by far outweighs this con.

OtiMama · 11/03/2022 20:42

For me same con is the heaviness/size of the pram collapsed...but there are so many positives, I'm yet to meet another mum with a pram that I wish I had instead! Comfy for baby, amazing handle height that can be adjusted, great fabrics, sturdy wheels, biggest basket ever and easy to put up and down! Also has amazing customer service if something goes wrong.

I did get a smaller travel size fold out pram when my son was around 1, which I use if I'm just popping into a shop for 5 mins but still use the visa for days out.

PastaDog02 · 12/03/2022 13:22

Amazing thank you all! We're planning on getting a second one for travel, but I do a LOT of walking with the dog daily. Going to bite the bullet and go for it!

Love mine and have a Minu for travelling which is great too

Oldtiredfedup · 22/03/2022 20:10

Loved mine.

Adore mine (Vista not Vista 2). I will say though that I hate it as a double, it's ridiculously heavy and hard to steer. It was useful a few times to be able to adapt it (for travelling to family mainly) but I wouldn't choose it on the basis that you can do so. We had a proper double while we needed it. But love love love my Vista, going strong on second child four years in, used continuously.

ReeseWitherfork · 22/03/2022 20:24

Love mine! DS and I have spent his whole life walking the dog with it in all manner of places with no problems; it was super smooth when he was a bub, and I take it to the forest now he's just over 2.5 and I can fit his bike in the bottom of it (so when he inevitably gets tired, he goes in the pram and bike can go underneath).

I didn't have one complaint about it until I've just tried to convert it to a double and it's cost me a small fortune in adapters and extra seats. But not really complaining, at least I can actually convert it!

helloyoutoo8 · 22/03/2022 20:29

I love mine. Just a tip, the basket is big enough to actually have a toddler sit in it! My toddler walks miles so never needed a double buggy but on the occasion he doesn't want to walk he's happy sitting in the basket as baby is in the pram. Really handy.

glowingtwig · 25/03/2022 22:48

@ReeseWitherfork I'm expecting DC2 in a month and definitely still need to strap my 2 year old down in the buggy... what do you actually need to get to turn the vista into a double with the regular toddler seat and the bassinet? I didn't know it meant buying extra seats? I'm hoping that DC1 will walk a bit further once DC2 is in the toddler seat.

Can't work it out from the website 😩

Chippingin2 · 25/03/2022 22:53

The rumbleseat (second seat) is pretty shit - costs £250 for a start, plus £30 adaptors. The little one has to go on the bottom, but it doesn't have a proper sunshade. They're not interchangeable, which I'd assumed they would be. If the big one goes on the bottom, their feet would dangle too much. Fine with the bassinet though.

It is a tank, in a good and bad way. You can have one on the buggy board and then two on the pushchair and your shopping. I got my abs back!

If I had my time again, I'd probably get a vista again I think but second hand and then pay for one of those proper cleaning services. Then the ridiculous cost of the extras wouldn't piss me off so much.

TheRealistBub · 25/03/2022 22:57

Have you tested either of them?

Aria2015 · 25/03/2022 23:02

It's great. Everyone will envy your huge buggy basket! I never carry a thing when I use my upper baby vista!

Ozanj · 25/03/2022 23:05

Love ours. Use it in London regularly at the moment (tubes and buses) as I need to visit relatives and it works well even during rush hour.

So you need two adapters - upper adapters and lower adapters. NOT car seat adapters. The bassinet goes on the bottom. The toddler seat goes on the top (you should have both of these). I'm guessing you've got both of these. And then if you want to keep DC1 in it when DC2 moves up to the toddler seat then you need to buy a rumble seat (which comes with the right adapters) and then swap out the bassinet.

As chipping said, it's a bit crap that the baby has to go on the bottom. The toddler blocks the view. But you can't fight physics I guess!!!

glowingtwig · 26/03/2022 14:44

@NC25032022 oh that is so helpful thank you very much. We already have the car seat adaptors from when DD was little.

I'm thinking I'll only bother with it as a double if I'm on a longer walk without DH and on the days when DD is at nursery I can just have the bassinet on as normal.

I'm hoping to avoid the rumble seat as DD will be that bit older and hopefully out of the lying on the floor tantrum stage... we'll see.
