Ok so I bought a pram the other week and it's got this 3 point safety harness inside. So I'm I right in thinking that when you take a new born baby out in the pram you have to strap them up? I can take the straps off but they are attached to the bottom on the pram so baby will be lying on top of them and in my opinion will be uncomfortable. As you can probably tell first time mum due in May ☺️

If it’s not a complete flat bassinet style then yes they will need strapping in every time you use it.

What does the instruction book say? What pram is it?

Newborn babies have to be led competely flat, normally there are no straps in those. The straps are then needed once you change the seat for a 6 month+ baby.

Is the pushchair you've bought definitely suitable from newborn?

Bought it from a charity shop, so no instructions came with it. I'll have to have a look into it thanks for the replies

If it’s not a completely flat bassinet/carrycot with proper sides then you always need to use straps but I’d actually be wondering if it’s actually suitable for a newborn. I had a newborn nest with straps for the Babyzen YoYo but it’s an additional buy, the stroller on its own it’s for use from 6 months, so if buying second hand to just get the newborn bit without the seat would be unusual.

What is the pram OP?

So a Chinese knock off of the Babyzen YoYo by the look of it… you can’t put a newborn in that.

Years a go now but I had a similar sort of pushchair where you could change the bassinet into stroller mode. The straps were attached so I got a mattress to fit from Mothercare so baby wasn't lying on them.
