Hi, after much online research we bought a bugaboo bee 5 in the Black Friday sale. It was greatly reduced as the bugaboo bee 6 is now out, but for me the 5 is better because it is compatible with the carseat i really wanted (the bee 6 is not). Due to lockdown we have not been able to try any pushchairs, but a friend had a bee 3 I have pushed, so I knew how easy they were to use. However, we live in a village, so my plan was to use my bargain bee5 whilst the baby was small on pavements (and a sling for anything else), then look to buy a more robust pushchair that could go off road when the baby was older (and hopefully we could actually go into shops again to try them out). I figured if we had bought a bulkier travel system now we would have later wanted a lightweight buggy like the bee anyway.
However, I have been reading about how low lying pushchairs (like the bee) expose babies to increased levels of pollution, which frankly has worried me a bit. I am happy with the bee for a toddler, as they will be sitting up straight so higher, but is the carrycot really low the bee5? I bought the carry cot separately to the bee5 (it is bee 6 carry cot as better ventilated and compatible with the Bee5 ). It was not as good a deal our Bee5 and I am considering sending the carrycot back and then buying a second hand more robust travel system I can use with a higher carrycot now (I would keep the bee5 pram as it will be useful to have a relatively lightweight buggy when out kid is older and sitting up + I can use it with our lie flat car seat).
Does the carrycot in the bee really sit as low as the bee seat (I have not taken the carrycot out of its box to try in case I send it back)? I have taken the bee5 out of its box and love it, it is so easy to push (although it has only be round out tiny garden).
Thank you
