Double Pram or not? If yes, advice on one?

Hi!
So I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant with our second child. When he is born our toddler will be 22/23 months depending on when baby is born.
We already have an oyster 2 travel system and a silver cross buggy.
My question is:
Is it worth getting a double pram/system for when the baby comes?!
Our toddler is good with walking, however does get tired if we’re out for long walks/days out as any child would. He also tends to nap for a few hours in the afternoon, and if we’re out and about he would happily do this in a Pram. Without his nap, he’s a tetchy monster haha.
I know it’s 3 months away, and he’s potentially going to reduce his naps/routine change. But as I’ve been looking at double prams they can range from £250 and way upwards. We’re looking to budget to include it if needed.
We’re also in the process of buying our first home, so would prefer not to spend a fortune if it’s not needed.
Would a buggy board be ideal for him?
Please note, we do have a baby carrier too. However if I’m out on my own (husband self employed Monday-Friday) I’m going to struggle with a toddler/Pram, baby in carrier and any bags etc to carry.
What did other mums with similar age gaps do?
Thank you in advance!

23 months between my two and I had a Phil and teds dot! It was a godsend! You'd pick one up on market place easily too!

I found my toddler just jumped off the buggy board or whinged!

Thank you! I’ve just had a look, and they look awesome. But I can’t find adaptors for a maxi cosi car seat (which we also already have along with the isofix base).
Probably should’ve put that in the post (baby brain in full swing today)
Also, is it worth the £500+ investment as both will probably only be using it for a year. I’m so confused!

I have 25 months between my 2, I had a bugaboo donkey (second hand). It was great because I could change it up depending on what I needed. Often took it out on quick trips as a single and baby in carrier or toddler on buggy board.

I'd say up to youngest being 6 moths you need a double, it's a big change for your oldest and they'll be hitting the terrible two's as well. They quickly learn the exact moment to decide to bolt mid poo nappy change sometime you need to put them somewhere secure whilst you sort baby. Once my youngest was out of the carrycot and they both could use the seat I went back to my single because if older one needed the pushchair then youngest went in sling. I like carrying so if it doesn't work for you then double would be useful longer.

Double buggy was the best bit of kit I bought second time round. Mine are 2 and 4 and we still use it all the time. Went for mouthing buggy duet. Works really well on rough terrain. Thin enough to fit through bus doors and shop doors. Folds easy in the boot of the car. Honestly made my life so much easier.

Thank you both! It seems that’s the general consensus that we’re going to need one.
Now to find one. We can’t afford £1000 so we’re hoping to find a decent one for a lot less than that.
I don’t really want to get a second hand one atm with what’s going on, so we are looking to get new. That way it’ll come with warranty etc too as can’t afford to then get another one if the first one goes wrong 😓

Mountain buggy duet is very similar to the donkey, can have parent facing carrycot and is the narrowest side by side buggy. I believe it can take a car seat too (although it isn’t recommended to keep babies in car seats for too long) Smile

It can also convert to a single with side basket so good for carrying things

I found my duet to heavy to get in and out of the car and overall hated it. I have a 2nd hand icandy but the joie double is a good budget choice I think
