Which travel system?!

Hi, I'm now 25 weeks gone and looking at what travel system to get. I'm having a little difficulty as I can only read reviews online and can't get to any shops to try them out with the current situation of lockdown! Wondering if you lovely mummies could help?!
Our specifics are:
Not too wide (want to be able to maneuver around shops/cafes easily)
Easy fold with seat attached - preferably in world facing and parent facing
Comfy ride - goes up and down curbs, over bumps easily
Something that will also last as a stroller after - not just something bulky to last 12 months and then have to buy another smaller pram later!

Hope we're not asking too much!
Thanks

We have an ocarro from mammas and papas and it's great, a bit bulky though as it's suitable for off roaring but ticks all of your boxes. I know mamas and papas also do a smaller and more lightweight version (I think it's the flip) so that may be worth looking into Smile

How tall are you / DP?
How much walking/ travelling on public transport are you planning on doing?
What is your storage like?
Are you planning on having more DC?
Does your car have isofix? Does it have a decent sized boot?
Is weight important?
What is your budget?

Thanks @3dogsandababy, the ocarro is actually on my list of possibilities as we live in the countryside, so all terrain wheels are something we also wanted! The only negative is the weight - is it too heavy to get in and out of the car? How have you found it?

@JamMakingWannaBe - we're both fairly small 5'2 and 5'6, will be using the car quite often, never on public transport. Needs to fit in the boot of a ford focus, we have the maxi cosi cabriofix and isofix base already so would like to work with that. Would like something easy to steer around shops/cafes but also can go off road for walks too as we live in the country. I'm not the strongest, but weight isnt a huge factor as long as I can lift it in and out of the boot! Also looking to buy second hand if possible - no more children after this one, so would like to just get one to last.
Thanks!

I wouldn’t bother with car seat compatibility. It’s not recommended while they’re newborn and not needed as the get a bit bigger.

Cosatto Giggle. Amazing designs!!

Look at the Baby Joggers.
You'd need to check the handle height, as, although they are adjustable, you'll need one that suits your /DPs height.

Buggies do get bulky as kids get older so have a look at something like a Zeta Stroller.

For second hand, after lockdown, try Gumtree and Jack and Jill Markets. Ask around work too. Someone might have something going spare.

Baby is literally due any day now so I've not been using it properly (other than wheeling it around the garden feeling all important 😂). I've not been lifting it too often but don't find it that heavy - and I am weak!
It's really nice to push and feels like it can handle muddy walks etc.
I did loads of research before we went to look at it and had a demo and it was by far my favourite, and best recommended at the time (on which and loads of forums). We got it over the Black Friday sales so got a really good deal, it's pretty pricey so I suppose it depends on your budget but we loved that it's suitable for up to 3 years (and foldable whatever way the seat goes) and it's got a nice big basket underneath which was a deal breaker for us!

Just seen you live in the countryside... baby jogger is perfect for you.

LunaLula83 · 12/05/2020 06:31

You don't need a travel system. Granted it was handy clipping a car seat onto one. My kid hated every feature. The bassinet, Face forwarding, tipping back at an angle. She wanted to see the world and was in a pushchair setting by 6months and that's aĺl. I wish I had saved the £1000 and bought a pushchair. Go secondhand

lstedham · 12/05/2020 10:02

Thanks guys, had a look at the baby joggers and the only thing is that they don't face parent - so would prefer using further along 6months-1yr.
I deffo want a travel system just for nipping in and out the car to begin with etc. so ocarro is probably my best bet from birth!

OP, have you had a look at the mountain buggy? I'm sure you can attach car seats on that

Ignore me, just realised what you meant
