New mum - second hand pram?

Hi all - we’re expecting our first child and wanted to get thoughts on buying second hand.

I’m interested in a Bugaboo but they’re so expensive! Is there any reason why you wouldn’t recommend buying second hand?

Thanks

The only thing you shouldn't really buy second hand are car seats and mattresses. Aslong as the pram is in a good condition then go for it, you can save alot of money.

I bought mine second hand ( I wanted an uppababy which are pricey as well)
My second hand one is great I love it. I agree with both previous poster to check it before you buy.
Honestly most of my sons stuff is second hand except for his car seats and the matress for his crib. You save a fortune buying bundles of clothes rather than new.

I've had loads of 2nd hand prams and 1 new bugaboo.
Tbh the 2nd hand ones whilst in great shape they weren't as perfect as the new one (ie wasn't as smooth a ride etc).

I would still get 2nd hand but make sure you don't pay more than 30% of the original price imo.

I bought a second hand Bee when my DS became a toddler and I wanted a smaller stroller. It was 50% of the 'new' price and worth every penny

I bought a 2nd hand mamas & papas off of eBay. Seller said it was barely used, no issues with it etc.

Was only when I got it back home to give it the once over & clean I noticed a repair sticker from m&p stuck to the frame... would never had brought it if i had seen the sticker.

I was gutted. Asked the seller what the fault was as obvs id be putting my newborn in it, I needed to know if it was anything concerning. They wouldn't tell me- which either meant they were total assholes or it wasn't brand new to them either so they didn't even know the reason themselves...paid cash so couldn't even dispute it...

I only used it for a bit and ended up buying a smaller one as it was too big for my car anyway but I didn't buy 2nd hand because of this experience

I’ve bought a second hand 2 year old pram that was less than 20% of the new price.
I could not have afforded new.
