Help! Pram for field walks

Hi, I am expecting my first child in August! I am looking for pram/pushchair recommendations as I have no idea what is going to suit me! We live in the countryside on a farm and do a lot of dog walks around our bumpy fields! Looking for a pram (ideally a travel system) that is suitable for walking rough terrain but still looks nice! I am not a fan of the Phil and Ted/out and about, I would prefer something a bit nicer looking. Budget is £500 so I know I am limited. Recommendations please?

Why not just get a sling and then a travel system if you think you need one as well? We have an Out N About and it’s great for runs, or days out with some off roading, but I wouldn’t bother for dog walks etc. As a good soft structured sling is much less faff. Are you likely to be navigating public transport, going on shopping trips in town etc. That will mean you actually need a travel system?

Get a sling! A pram will be a nightmare for field walks.

Contact your local sling library when all this is over and try a few out.

A sling 100%, you’ll never get a pram over fields whatever it is.

A soft stretchy wrap is great when they’re tiny - there’s tons of videos on YouTube to show you how to tie them, and once you’ve got it it’s really easy. I used the Moby.

Then when they’re a bit older 4-5 months and can hold their head up, a structured carrier is great. I had the Ergo Baby 360 until Dd was almost 2.

That's not true, both the mountain buggy and the Out n About 360 are great in fields and mud but the OP doesn't like them.

If you do live on a farm though you will find that you need one pushchair for home and one for going to baby groups, shopping etc. I would keep a lookout for a second hand Out n About for the farm and get whatever nicer pushchair you want for everything else.

A sling is also a great idea though and I loved mine, but if you live in the countryside and have to drive to everything I found it can be a bit of a faff getting it on and off all the time.

One of my friends has the out and about nipper, she can get it over anything. If you're wanting field walks, I would say that's the ticket. It folds up easily, the only downside is that it doesn't have a basket. It's not a travel system, but I personally never used my expensive travel system as a travel system.

I also loved using the sling too, but you didn't ask about that.

I found the complete opposite funnily. Way easier to strap the baby into a Tula that fanny about with a car seat or unfolding a pram.

Out N About Nipper 100%. I bought the double whilst pregnant, using it now with my only because it's so good!

also, i would say, no one pram does it all.

Buy second hand, get and off road for the farm and country walks etc. Then a smaller 'town' buggy for the car, with a great shopping basket. Treat them both well and you'll get your money back when you sell.
