Confused about pram options

When Toys R Us was closing down, I bought a travel system that they had reduced, the Babylo Plum, which claims to be suitable from birth. I miscarried that pregnancy, but now I'm 7 months pregnant with a little girl, we've finally unboxed the travel system and I have no idea what I'm doing with it.
It consists of a car seat and a pushchair. The car seat is fine, I can work that out, with the instructions. My problem is with the pushchair. As the box said, this is meant to be suitable from birth, but when I recline the pushchair fully, there are gaps at the end where the baby's feet would be. I expected a cot-like basket and it isn't one.
Does this mean that only the car seat is suitable from birth? Or do I put a newborn in the fully reclined pushchair even with the gaps? I can happily put in a cosytoes or other footmuff, which this set hasn't come with. I'm (obviously!) a first time mum and I have no idea what I'm doing. It's really stressing me out because I can't find a suitable pram to buy second hand to replace this one and money is too tight to get another travel system :(. I've included a couple of photos of the relined pushchair to show what I mean.
Thanks for any help.

The reclined pushchair is fine, used a footmuff bag. Do not use the car seat as a push chair or to sleep in in the house. Babies must lie flat in order to breathe properly and car seat fold them up and overheat them.
This looks fine. Use the car seat only as a car seat
