Fiat 500 and a baby buggy??!?!

I've recently found out that I'm very unexpectedly expecting my first baby about a month after buying myself a fiat 500. I am absolutely in love with the car but I was wondering if any of you knew a pram that actually fits in the boot? I've found a car seat that fits (maxi cosi pebble plus- but if anyone can recommend another I'll definitely listen!) Now it's just the pram situation really. Ideally I really want a pram where I can let baby lie flat in a carry cot that fits onto the pram. I'm happy to pop the carry cot on the back seat next to bubba. Hopefully you lovely lot can recommend a pram for me so I don't have to change my beloved car that I've saved up for years to have.

Thank you!!! X

Baby jogger city mini folds up quite flat!

Baby zen yo-yo is the smallest and lightest on the market and has excellent reviews. The whole thing including the carrycot folds up small enough to go in hand luggage on an aeroplane.

If you don't mind having a carry cot on the back seat and want something larger the bugaboo bee 5 is good.

I have a 500.
You could probably put down one of the back seats to make more room to fit buggy in. Presumably you don't need to transport more than 3 people.

I have the Mamas & Papas Flip XT2 and it would definitely fit in your car - I have a VW up and it goes comfortably in the boot.
It’s a brilliant pram - it comes with a lie flat carrycot with is lovely and once you switch to the pushchair seat, it all folds down in one piece which so many prams don’t, so it’s great for small boots.
Mamas & Papas sell the pushchair in a bundle with the Cybex Aton car seat - they are not as well known as Maxi Cosi but very well regarded for safety and come with a great inbuilt sun hood. A lot of my friends have Maxi Cosi’s and they only have a small fabric sunshade which offers hardly any protection - I much prefer mine for when you need to protect baby from the sun/wind/rain xx

Before you make a decision, maybe bring the car to a mothercare or similar and ask them to show you how to put a car seat in the back of your car and get it out again, and try doing it yourself. Imagine doing that with a car seat containing a chunky eight month old, not a tiny newborn.

My sister had a Fiat 500 and they’re great wee cars, but I wouldn’t underestimate how much a pain in the arse getting a baby in a car seat in and out of a very small three seater car can be. Obviously some people manage, but if it’s a choice between a tiny cute car and something more practical it’s worth weighing up the pros and cons.

I had a baby jogger city y mini that I could fit into my Ford Fiesta no problem.

It either laid flat with the wheels off, or I could take off the parcel shelf and stand it upright which was my preferred option.

Before that I had other pushchairs that were umbrella fold, and would put them in the front passenger footwell or on the floor under the back seats.

For me though, putting a child in/out a car seat is more of an issue, I would have to have 4 doors regardless of the car size! It’s a nightmare trying to strap a child in the backseat from the front!

I’d look to see if you can find a birth to 18kg swivel car seat for ease of getting baby in and out.

I recommend the quinny zap. I’ve never seen a prank that folds any smaller. I had a Mini Cooper with ds1 and it fit in the boot with plenty of space left over. Maxi cosy car seats fit with adaptors and the quinny zap xtra 2 has a lie flat setting for newborns although it may be slightly bigger when folded as the carrycot fold seperately.

Hiya have you seen the cybex eezy s twist.
Lie flat parent and world facing and 1 piece fold trace system compatible
It looks fab

Thank you so much everyone for your help! I found that the bugaboo bee was a very good fit but I just didn't like the style at all. I've ended up going with the quinny zapp flex plus as it fits nicely in the boot even with room to spare! Good old Mothercare and mamas and papas were great at letting me try lots of prams in the boot which is something I would have never even thought of as an option. Thank you all again, I'm super happy that I don't have to give up my cute little car 😌✨ xx
