Icandy Raspberry 2 or Bugaboo Bee 5

That really. Dd is 6 months and both of these for the bill- small, lightweight, nimble and good weight capacity. I've tried the Raspberry and really like the steering and kerb popping really important as I go up and down steps a lot. Anyone who has either happy to share experiences?

Hey, After months of research and 5.5 hours in mothercare folding, pushing, and picking up pushchairs the icandy raspberry won for me. Like you I compare the Raspberry to the Bugaboo bee but my final choices were - Baby Jogger City Tour Lux and the icandy raspberry. The raspberry won for me based on the weight. 6.6Kg vs 9.6kgs

The city tour lux however was a true one hand fold and folded way more compact, then it also had a shoulder strap meaning that the carry up and down steps.

The bugaboo didn't make the final list for me as the unfold was very precarious, it was really tough to get a foot onto the part of the frame where you needed to leverage and put both me and my partner off balance each time. I really did want the bugaboo bee to be perfect but on that basis i ruled it out.

I went for the raspberry in the end and it's been amazing, easy fold and unfold, lightweight, and free standing when folded. I've also 'hacked' the raspberry so that it's now a one hand fold which was one thing the City tour lux had over the raspberry.

If wanted to compare 2 to make sure you made the right choice, check out the baby jogger city tour lux with the raspberry.

@jamcrumpets would you mind sharing how you did the hack for the fold please? Are you still pleased with the raspberry now or have any niggles surfaced? So hard to find reviews of the newer model! Many thanks in advance x

@piginpastry The hack is very simple, the button you push on the left handle before you slide it shut, you just need to tape up with duct tape meaning the button is constantly engaged, therefore you no longer need to push and hold that button to fold the pram. All you need to do now is squeeze the middle button on the handle and push down.

This comes with a caveat - the button on the left is there fore a reason, to ensure you don't fold the buggy by accident. In the 11 months we've had the buggy I've not done it once by accident, it's quite hard to in fact as you need to first squeeze the middle button on the handle and then push down and fold backwards. But the decision is yours.

We've not had any regrets since we got the raspberry and frequently comment that we made the best choice seeing our antenatal gang all trading their prams for smaller light weight ones for one reason or another, well one of the gang got the Laika and area trading because the luggage is small.

All in all, the raspberry is a good middle ground that can have both luggage space, with a compact fold. The build quality is great and it handles grass and rough terrain very well. At risk of sounding like an icandy employee I'll give a negative, the carry cot is really expensive and whilst it probably would have helped for the first few months we managed without it.

I've only seen 2 people with the raspberry around town so no surprise there's little review on this, I wonder why that is? Anyway I've past many people who have either eyed up my buggy wondering what it is or have asked me what model it was.

I'm really struggling to find any niggles which surfaced in the last 11 months but also this pram just works for us in every way, it might not be the best fit for everyone.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much @jamcrumpets really useful feedback. Totally agree with you on the carrycot, I'm planning on just using the newborn pod from the earlier version. I wonder if there's not many people buying it because of the brake issue that was obviously a problem in the previous version? Hopefully it's been resolved. Thanks again!

@piginpastry not to worry at all. I know that it's a massive purchase and you want to get it right first time! We also used the newborn pod from the previous version and it's been perfect. We had a winter baby and it was more than sufficient. No brake problems on this one from my perspective! Good luck
