Holiday stroller for a bigger kid

We've just booked a trip to Florida for next year and are looking for a decent lightweight stroller for our 3 year old. We stopped using one at home a long time ago but I can see the time at the parks being exhausting for him (and us if we have to carry him on our shoulders when he gets tired - he's tall for his age with proportionate weight). The one's you can rent there are extortionate. Has anyone had any experience with decent lightweight strollers with a higher weight capacity for holidays?

The cheaper the better as he may surprise us and be fine for the entire trip but We'd spend more if it was really worth it.

Thanks!

Rent one from Kingdom Strollers.
You won’t need it the rest of the time, you definitely will in the parks.
We paid 100 dollars for 10 days hire of a huge one, DS was nearly 6 and fitted with ease.
Also means you don’t have to mess with it in the airport.

Do you want to have one for the airport? If not and it can wait until you get there then you can pick up cheap ones from Walmart etc. If you’re staying in a villa you also quite often find left behind strollers in the garages!
There are lots of companies that hire them for much cheaper than the ones in the parks. Eg we’ve used kingdom strollers.

You WILL need a stroller. I don’t know if you’ve been before but the parks are just huge and coupled with heat and late nights you will need one for our own sanity as much as his!!! This year our eldest will be 7 when we go and we are still renting a double buggy (4 yr old as well) so he can sit down when he needs to.

How much does he weigh now? You can hire them there. But guess it's much cheaper to take one of your own. Some sort of maclaren umbrella would be good. You may be able to borrow one fro someone. Everyone seems to have a garage full of pushchairs.

As an aside, take a bike lock so you can chain it up. They get stolen.
