Looking at buying a travel system in the next few weeks but im so confused Confused do you actually need one with a carrycot or is it ok just have the pushchair car seat combo like a Graco Fastfold ? The one we like is only £89.99 brand new for the car seat and pushchair in a green colour Shock but i also like a really expensive one called the Icandy Peach 3 which i think would be a better investment since we want 2 close together in age. Im tempted by both but they are so different in everyway yet fit our lifestyle perfectly. If we used a car seat stroller combo baby would only be in car seat about 30mins each time and I've got a sling to use as well when we're out and about but even for 30mins im worried they will be squished and uncomfy in a car seat and there chin flops down onto their chest so there airways can get cut off ?
Gonna leave this here my hormones are making me ramble on Blush

As others have said, a carrycot is not essential if the pram has a lie flat seat. I have a Mamas and Papas travel system with a lie flat seat and purchased a separate newborn cocoon which we used until around 5 months. It cost less than £30 (vs £200+ for the carrycot) and was extremely snug and kept her really warm in the winter. Also, Mamas and Papas prams have huge hoods so she was well protected from wind and rain.

We had carseat adapters and used them very occasionally - they are useful for quickly popping into a shop from the car or similar short visits but carseat and adaptors are definitely not an alternative to a good lie flat seat or carrycot (especially in your case as you walk a lot and use public transport)

I wouldn't pay extra for a pram that has potential to convert to a double from now either. I strongly considered the vista when buying my pram for the same reason but I am so glad I ended up with a lighter pushchair and an easier fold - unlike all my friends with Vistas and Peach 3s, I haven't switched to a stroller after she turned 1 as my travel system is easy to use. I am expecting my second now and will have a 22month age gap but have got a super cheap second hand Baby Jogger City Mini for my second and find it so much easier than my friend's iCandy Peach 3. The Baby Jogger will also be a much better option once my second is 6 months plus as both can sit side by side and no-one will be hidden underneath.

We decided to return the pact and buy a Cybex twist with a cocoon so baby can lie flat and parent face us Halo can't wait for it to arrive to test drive it as we couldn't find any set up in stores and the cocoon was hard to come by too i think it was only released in April this year which is why it didn't appear on our search until now

We got a car seat and a carrycot for sleeping in the house, but nothing in wheels til he was about 6 months and could be more upright. Before that we used a stretchy wrap then a connecta baby carrier (means you can walk wherever you like including through mud/over stiles etc).

Ah never mind, just seen you’re sorted! Smile

Oh the twist looked really good!

It looks amazing can't wait to have a play with it When it gets here Grin it has a totally lie flat fold and a huge hood yet its so compact it fits in an over head.
Might still buy a big bulkier system for long walks

Yes what put us off that one was the small wheels, no good for off road or cobbled streets, but if that's not a concern then it looks really great.

Yh but it's perfect for getting on buses and quick trips round the supermarket etc the general vibe im getting from other parents is they have 2 prams one small on and something larger for the days out and longbwalks
