Tandem double buggy - advice please!!

I'm looking for a tandem double buggy for a tall 2 and a half year old and newborn. We have limited space and will be storing the buggy in our porch- so don't want anything too bulky! I like the look of the Phil and teds sport. Advice most welcome please!

I had a sport. Was the worst decision I made: my two year old actually got a sore neck. I did not want a side by side, but in the end I tried a city mini jogger and i never looked back. It’s narrower than you think, really light and folds single handed

Thank you- how horrible ! why did your 2 year old get a sore neck with the sport ?

I had a Maclaren when mine were little & loved it. I liked that I could recline both as my nearly 2 year old still napped

I didn't drive so was on & off busses & getting round shops & it was easy to use

I've just got a sport for impending DC2. Only real gripe about it is that it's heavy to lift in and out the car boot at 8mos pregnant. No parent facing option in the UK. Dot might have been lighter.

I hated the tandem and also switched over to a side by side. My advice would be to make sure you try out any tandem with bury children in and on different terrain.

*bith not bury

We went for a side by side - the out n about nipper. DS climbed straight in, got himself comfy and looked like he could’ve went to sleep in it. It fits through all the doorways of our house, folds easily and is really easy to push. Baby isn’t here yet but looks like it’ll do everything we need it to.

Thanks for the advice everyone- I'm still keen to go for a tandem style double buggy. I've heard the Phil and teds vibe has a slightly taller seat for the toddler so will look into that!

We had a tandem one too - a real pain. Switched to an out and about nipper. Took less space, more comfy for both kids, very manouverable and fitted through doors. I would try one before buying a Phil and reds vibe.

If the Vibe is the most expensive one in the P and T range, then it also folds with the second seat attached. I am now wondering if the extra £200 would have been worth it.

A Baby Jogger GT? I think they handle better than a normal city mini although slightly heavier/bulkier than the normal mini. They don't do the double elites anymore so we have two singles. The wheels are very easy to remove. I found the normal city mini rubbish to be honest. I only used it on holiday for a week and then got rid. It was so much harder to manoeuvre and that was only with one in.
