Help please, don't know where to compromise

First time Mum to be, and I am a bit overwhelmed by the pushchair choices.
I don't even know for sure what I'm looking for because obviously baby will change my lifestyle. Currently I walk anywhere under about two miles and take the car on longer journeys. I hardly ever use public transport.
Have already spent probably too long researching online and there always seems to be a compromise.

Here is my list of (I think) essential requirements:
Suitable from birth
Tall adjustable handles, and space for a long stride. DH is 6'4", I am 5'7", but take big steps as I'm usually late to everything.
Suitable for tall baby (seems likely)
Big hood and robust raincover. I live in a windy and rainy part of the country.
Easy to push
Big shopping basket. supermarket /shops are in walking distance.
Wheels that will cope with rough paths /gravel. We'll have a carrier as well for proper countryside walks, because of the stiles.
Parent facing
Robust/durable, Nothing delicate is safe near my family.

Things I would also like, but probably can't have all of:
Carrycot suitable for sleeping
Lightweight enough to lift in and out of the car easily
Folds small
Easy to fold
Easy to adjust
High up baby seat

Obviously I would prefer all of this for the lowest price possible, but I could buy a top price pushchair if needed. I'm not at all bothered by which brands are fashionable.

Thank you for any suggestions

The best piece of advice I can give you is to buy a used buggy of your choice from eBay or similar. I researched and decided on a Quinny. I bought it for £100 in excellent condition but knew I could change it if I didn't like it. I stuck with it and sold it for a profit on eBay 2 years later. I also bought a new Maxicosi carrier that fitted the Quinny frame for the early days. In fact the carrier and a cot mattress were the only things I bought brand new x

I know you listed it as an essential but I would compromise on the parent facing and go with Baby Jogger City Mini GT. We bought this and have never felt the need to buy another buggy - DC2 is 20 months and DC1 (now 4) can still fit in it too. Ticks most of your other boxes.

I had an iCandy Apple to pear. It meets most of your criteria. The only thing is it doesn't fold small. But in reality, something that is that durable really isn't going to be light and compact. But it was a great buy and we still use it and my little boy is almost 3 and a half.

As a second time mum I'd just like to offer a counter argument - I really loved the parent facing feature on my buggy and it's absolutely an essential for me this time around. I know everyone is different here and maybe if you're not so sure about it, it's not that big of a deal but if you're wondering if it's a gimmicky thing that you might regret later - IMO absolutely not! I used it right until DS1 outgrew the buggy completely, not every time, but I thought it was brilliant to have the option.

Hi GreyDuck, head to john Lewis for unbiased, no pressure advise. then go from there.

Another suggestion of bugaboo. I'd also recommend buying secondhand as a good compromise. My bugaboo was £150 rather than £800 it would've been new.
