Compact stroller to take as hand luggage

Hi All I was hoping for some advice on compact stroller to take on plane. I know the Yoyo is good but it's way too expensive. Has anyone tried other cheaper makes and models? Hoping to find something that fits Ryanair and easyJet baggage restrictions. Does anyone have any experience of this?
I see the mothercare XSS is tiny when folded but myDS is quite chunky so worried he won't fit in it. Has anyone tried quicksmart? Ickle Bubba or red kite push me cube? They all seem to be a little too big for hand baggage or do airlines allow some flexibility?

I saw a new Britax the other day, think it was called Holiday or something.

Its a tiny lightweight umbrella fold costing about £100

There are no restrictions for size of buggy! When you arrive, just go to check in, they ask if it's one piece or two and tag it. You then take it all the way to the steps of the plane with you.

Ryanair are quite generous surprisingly, infants and children who still need them are entitled to 2 free items each. 1 buggy and either a car seat or travel Cot (checked in)

Why do you want to take it as handluggage? Most people leave them at the plane door to go in the hold and collect them at the plane door or baggage reclaim when they arrive.

There are restrictions if they're being taken on board. Most just use them until boarding and then they go in the hold

Sometimes (we flew into Stansted) you don't collect the buggy until baggage reclaim which can be quite a trek in some airports so that's why you'd want it as hand luggage.

Or if you're on a long haul flight with an air bridge or connecting through another airport you might not get it back until the end of your journey.

Having said that, can you look into a carrier for that bit in between? You can get ergonomic carriers which will take children up to age 3 and 2nd hand will be much cheaper than a buggy and much smaller.

We've had to trek all the way through gatwick with him in the carrier before and then the stroller took another hour to arrive so that's why I wanted one we could carry on with us. I have the ergo baby carrier but he's a very wiggly baby so doesn't seem to like being in it anymore. There seem to be loads of compact strollers on the market at the moment but most seem to be a cm or two over the hand baggage requirements

We have the gb pockit. Bought exactly for that reason. We got it when ds was 11months he is now 2 and it has lasted well. It doesn’t come with a proper hood so we bought a good universal which does the job. We also added a luggage strap to it so we can hang on us or at nursery. We use it as the nursery pram as my mum finds the bee too heavy to use. It has been in the over head baggage compartment on every flight (16) with us.

That's great I have looked at it but was just a bit worried as our lad has quite chunky thighs so wasn't sure he would fit. Is your little one happy in it?

Try it in a shop and see. My ds seems happy. Although gb have a newer one which is slightly wider?

I also got stopped by someone who had the mountain buggy nano(?) who said it was good for folding but he kept having to buy replacement wheels which we haven’t.
