Rear-facing, lie-flat, pushchair

Hi,

DH and I are trying for baby number 2 and we need a new pushchair. We don't own a car or travel by one very often so we don't need an all-singing, all-dancing travel system.

Ideally we need a rear-facing pushchair which will lie flat for a newborn. Does anyone know of a good pushchair which doesn't cost a small fortune?

I'm currently looking at the Mothercare Journey 3-wheeler. It is a travel system but is currently only £299 (I think its about £40 dearer at full price). It seems very sturdy and the carrycot turns into a seat which is front or rear facing. Nice big basket underneath and the one I played with in the store was easy to work. I can't find any reviews on it though so no idea what it is like on a day to day basis (I have started a thread on here in the hopes someone will have one and can tell me more!)

I got a lovely pram off eBay (brand new) for £130. Came with car seat, carrycot, raincover, apron, bumper bar, changing bag, snack tray, it's parent and world facing, folds easily, its a fab pram. Dd is 20 months and is comfortable in it, we've had it almost a year and it's still in perfect condition. It's this one, although it's gone up £10. I'd recommend it to anyone, wish I'd bought it when she was born.

Brilliant, I'll take a look at them.

I've just seen the oyster 2 which might work. The seat part appears to lie flat and can be forward or rear facing. The issue I have is getting just the chassis and the seat without the car seat (we already have one which should do) and all the other expensive fittings which we likely won't use.

I was going to recommend an Oyster 2. I am currently using one for dd2 and love it. I bought it second hand from a friend so it’s just the chassis and seat which is all I needed but it forward faces, lies flat for newborn, very easy to push one handed, lovely and smooth, easy to put up and down. I highly recommend it, and so did my friend who reluctantly sold it to me as her dd was too big for it!

Sorry it forward and rear faces!

Another recommendation for the oyster 2, we had the carry cot also, but really could have easily done without it
