Light & compact pushchair for awkward journeys?

I'm thinking of getting a second pushchair to take with me for awkward journeys with lots of steps/train changes/tube travel.

I live in London and often take my daughter out in the ergobaby carrier when I have to go somewhere that involves lots of tube changes or awkward steps. However, the older she gets (she's 13 months now) the more I miss having the pushchair for her to sit in or nap in when we get to where we are going. So I wondered about getting a really light/compact 2nd pushchair to take with me, carry on the tube etc, and unfold when we need it at our destination.

I can't decide whether to get one of the really cheap, flimsy ones (like one of the £25 Argos ones) or whether to spend a bit more and get something like the GB pockit which is 4kg and folds up to fit in a bag. They do a slightly more expensive model which has a recline option too, but that's £150.

Just wondering what other people have done or if anyone has any recommendations?

Thank you.

We've got the gb pockit. I looped on a baggage strap with a lock which means when folded up I can put it on my shoulder. DS is close to 2 so it means that when he walking on rough areas around I can have it on my shoulder and then undo when he wants to sit.

Its really easy to use on the tube. Definitely easy to lift the whole pram up the stairs to get out of the tube. Excellent on the bus as its tiny. If theres already 2 prams on the bus v quick to fold. The airport is a breeze.

Really good to know, thank you. I'm so tempted. Can he sleep OK in it (if it's the non-recline version?)

Generally we tend to zoom around in it so when at home he doesnt sleep in it. For holidays we spent money on a full coverage hood that zips up and make it dark and he has a full 2hr nap in it. I console myself that he isn't sleeping upright every day.

Thank you! I've just ordered it and I've gone from not being sure to being SO EXCITED......Freeeeeeedom! I'm sure she'll learn to sleep upright eventually Wink

@TakeMe2Insanity can you let me know which extendable cover you use? Thanks!

Its this one

Snooze shade plus deluxe, I attach the top bits on the handle bar with the buggy's "hood" down so it supports the snooze shade.
