If money was no object, what buggy would you buy?

Current pregnant with no.2 and my lovely grandparents are buying us a buggy and have asked which one we'd want and set an unlimited budget. I'm so grateful to them!

DS is almost 7 so I've been out of the game for a while. If money was no object which would you go for?

The Armadillo Flip XT.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 09/07/2017 19:25

Urban or rural? If urban, Bugaboo Bee with all the trimmings.

millsbynight · 09/07/2017 19:26

Zone 2 London, so right up there in the urban-ness!

Flipping heck Nap just basically gave one of those away before I emigrated two months ago

completely unhelpful

My answer is the iCandy Orange. DC2 due in Oct and DD still needing a buggy.

It's utterly, prohibitively, ridiculously expensive though x

soupmaker · 09/07/2017 19:34

I'd go for an umbrella fold every time. Maclaren is always my buggy of choice. I carried my DD2 until she was old enough to go in a Maclaren Traveller. Brilliant lightweight buggy. I had a very expensive Jane which was great but heavy and bulky and no way worth the money.

AshesEmbersFlames · 09/07/2017 19:36

A Bugaboo Bee +

Shiftymake · 09/07/2017 19:41

Emmaljunga NXT90, love the quality and this one would tick all the boxes, esp with the diversity one needs with a fast growing baby.

skyzumarubble · 09/07/2017 19:42

I'd get an Egg

RelaxMax · 09/07/2017 19:47

Uppababy Cruz. Easy to steer one handed, big shopping basket, carrycot for the early days, seat can be rear or forward facing.

ShelaghTurner · 09/07/2017 19:53

Bee, no question. It's the perfect urban pushchair.

millsbynight · 09/07/2017 22:32

Thank you everyone for your replies. There's so much to choose from it's unreal and some of these prices are eye-watering! Now I'm feeling very grateful for my grandparents!

IMHO if you think you will have another baby within 2 years of this one then get a pram that can convert into a double.

Again, the iCandys are expensive but the Peaches and Oranges convert easily (I don't work for iCandy I swear!)

Ps: look out for deals OR don't be afraid to ask "is there a car seat included"? Maxi Cosi appears to be a popular brand and again fits the chassis of many (expensive) buggies/travel systems

Good luck and I'm well jeal xx

Another for the iCandy. I have the Strawberry2 Soho and I love it so much. Easiest pram to push, parent or forward facing when in pushchair mode. 1 hand fold (when you get the hang of it) and actually quite compact. Dd is 6 months and if we have another baby soon I will be getting the Peach blossom, as tested it and loved it!

silkpyjamasallday · 10/07/2017 07:30

Bugaboo bee, we have one and I absolutely love it, my parents got it for us and got us the beautiful Van Gogh edition as I did history of art at uni. Easy to fold and is easy to lift, can attach the car seat, can be parent or forward facing, bassinet option is good for when they are tiny, perfect for in London on buses/tubes as it isn't one of these huge tank size prams you see out and about and you can steer with one hand even with a full basket and hefty baby. We live in a Victorian terrace and our friends pram doesn't fit down the corridor it's so massive. It also fits our friends very tall 3 year old comfortably so I'm confident it will last us through the years that we will need it.

Or you could go really OTT and ask for the Aston Martin pram, it is a thing of beauty, but at £3k that might be pushing it a bit on the generosity front.

AlbusPercival · 10/07/2017 07:32

Urban and on and off public transport.
Definitely the baby yoyo zen. So lift you can pop it over your shoulder on an escalator, fold up in bus etc

Madonna9 · 14/07/2017 15:09

I'm a fan of Bugaboo as well. Very kind of your grandparents.
You can always try and find a good deal on the buggy of your choice, right?

qumquat · 14/07/2017 15:15

Baby Jogger City Mini. You will get an attack of Smug every time you fold it one handed, carry it in one hand with the baby in the other up stairs, or get it onto and off trains without any help. Suitable from birth till the end of buggying. Love love love it!

charlotteelisabeth · 20/07/2017 13:14

Sorry to hijack but those of you recommending/with a Bugaboo Bee do you know if it fits in the boot of a VW UP/Skoda Citigo/Seat Mii? Have measured and looks like it will go in on its side without having to taking anything off but just wondered if anyone had experience with it?
Just about to get rid of our enormous travel system which I've only put up with for 4 months Blush need something smaller and able to fold in one piece.

Madonna9 · 20/07/2017 13:49

Bugaboo is not very small Charlotteelisabeth.
How old is your DC?
Maybe easier to switch to a buggy, like this Easilfe stroller from Recaro?

MuncheysMummy · 21/07/2017 21:00

I have an iCandy Peach 2016 in Butterscotch it's a thing of beauty I love it! But I also love the Bugaboo Cameleon and Buffalo,I'd pr for the Buffalo as I live semi rurally but a Cameleon would suit you better or an iCandy Peach or the new Orange.

PotOfYoghurt · 21/07/2017 23:23

You can't beat the Babyzen Yoyo for size, weight and one handed fold. It fits in carry on luggage as well. However it has a teeny basket so is generally better as a travel buggy. If you're going to be doing a lot of walking around the city you might find the lack of space to fit a nappy bag annoying.

Babyblues14 · 21/07/2017 23:27
