Bugaboo Donkey-too wide?

Thinking of getting a Bugaboo Donkey Twin.
Will have a newborn and just turned 2 year old.
My only concern is, is it too wide? Do people find it difficult around shops and through doorways etc?

Yes.

You are better off with a buggy board with integrated seat. And sling so you can switch them for naps. We did a city break like this.

IF this doesn't work, there are much cheaper comfortable double buggies (baby jigger city mini twin) that lie flat and, with a cocoon foot muff, work well with newborns.

We have the same age gap as you and virtually never use the double buggy. Fine for parks etc but not if you want to enter a restaurant etc.

I haven't found it too wide at all except for in one local shop (which my friend with a maclaren struggles with!)

We have used ours loads and never had any problems with doors etc. We have a 17 month gap. Still use it now with 3 yo and 21 month old.

Thanks for the replies. It certainly looks nice, unlike a few doubles I've seen.

The sling idea is a good one too-I plan to do this and use my lightweight stroller type pushchair on occasions too.

I love the city mini (have a single and would def consider a double) but the advantage of the donkey is it will easily revert back to a single once your older DC is willing to walk longer, or if you've only got one child out with you that day and the city mini won't do that.

Assuming you won't have to deal with public transport, you'll probably be able to get around most shops ok.

I'd always prefer a tandem/in-line one tbh.

RandomMess-I'm toying with buying an inline again. I had the icandy peach last time, but I think the seats aren't great for a two year old.

I've got a baby jogger and 2y gap and used it a lot, I loved it. Some shops were a nightmare - me and a lady in a wheelchair gridlocked a cheap card shop once - but they're bad with a single too.

Tandems aren't so good for both to nap. If we had the money, we would have got the Donkey, DH was saying today if we started again he wants one!

The Mountain buggy duo is as narrow (rear wheel base) as an inline Phil and Teds, if you'd like a side-by-side.
