Pliko switch help!

Hi, someone kindly gave us a pliko switch pram while I was pregnant. It had been stored in their cellar so we took it apart to wash it. Eh-uh! Now we can't work out to put it back together! We take it out the cupboard every so often and then give it up - that's been going on for nearly 7 months!! Can anyone help? There's the plastic base, then we seem to have 4 different cover bits - one which is the same fabric as the pram but it doesn't have holes in the back for the straps to come through, then there are 2 other parts which do have strap holes... but oh it's just so confusing! And the manual and photos on the internet don't seem to be helping... Thanks if anyone can shed on light on this murky situation

Here are some pictures -
the first one shows one of the covers on the chassis - it fits, but obviously isn't right because it would be really uncomfortable to sit in with just this layer!
The second is a mystery! I don't know if it's part of something else?!
The third would seem to somehow fit over the first, making the buggy more comfy and with the straps coming through the holes - but there seems to be no way of attaching it to the rest of the buggy???

If anyone can help that would be amazing!
Cheers

Is this one of these prams with a "floating harness"? Where the straps don't go through the back where baby's shoulders are? That would explain the lack of holes for straps on the back. Goodness knows where the straps do go though!

jojimales · 27/04/2015 12:23

cheers for the reply
looking at pictures online the straps seem to be coming through the back, so I think they should, I just can't work out how the bits all go together. Ha! It's like a farce whenever I get it out the cupboard to try and work it out.

I just googled "pilko floating harness" and the first thing was an, ahem, other forum explaining the harness thing.

HoppityVoosh · 27/04/2015 12:25

Ohh x post. Sorry I've not been much help!

jojimales · 27/04/2015 17:47

oh thanks though, after many internet searches I hadn't found that thread yet, so having a read of that now! cheers

#1 is the seat unit cover. You've got that right, the original Switch had a floating harness so there's no holes on the back.

#2 iim guessing is fleecey with a zip around the bottom edge? If so its a footmuff without the top layer but you can still use it as it just sits on the seat and you put the shoulder straps through the holes then it becomes a cosy cushion for baby to sit or lie on.

#3 is a complete footmuff I think, the 2 layers should fasten together and again just sit on the seat with the harness through so its like a sleeping bag to keep them warm instead of using blankets.

The floating harness was excellent as it doesn't pin the child in so they can sit more upright or forward if they like without falling out. Just put the arms through the straps then fasten as normal and make sure its adjusted to fit properly :)

Thank you!
Great, I didn't know there was such a thing as a floating harness, so thanks everyone - glad to know you rated it too.
Awesome! We can actually use it now! :D
